I want to get my sister a Minecraft account for Christmas. Problem is, she's 10 years old, so since it's illegal in the US for children under 13 to have email accounts, she could lose access to her account at any time! I could get myself a Minecraft account (I've been considering it anyway) and let her play on it, but I really want to support the developers and not pirate the game. Is there any way I can get my sister an account without linking it to her email?
It looks like I actually need an email address to *buy* the game - but will my sister need one to play, too? Or can she log in with some other sort of username once I buy the game for her?
What do you mean by "controlling it for her"? Is it sufficient that I (or my parents, or another brother) know the password so we can check on her? Or do we need to change the password to something that she doesn't know, so that she can't access it without permission?
Also, what would happen if Google found out that she's under 13, and deleted her account? Would she lose her Minecraft account as well, since it would be tied to her email? Should we have created her email account under someone else's name, and given that person's birthdate instead of whatever she put in for her own to trick Google into thinking she's 13?
edit: to clarify, she already has a Gmail account, but I don't want to go tying any purchases to that account if she could lose it at any time!
