THE greatest thing to happen to this game since 2010.
I've gotta say this is by far the stupidest thing I have ever read in my years on this planet. People who dislike or hate Notch dislike or hate minecraft as a whole, whether or not they can admit it is up for debate. He created the game, he added to the game, he has his regrets about some additions but he believes that he did what was the best for the game.
There is one thing few people understand. The reason the developers add what they add is because its their game and it adds to their enjoyment and they think people will like it. What good is making a game if the developers don't have a passion for what they add? At some point, they decided X, Y or Z would be fun and they added it.
You know why you hear the voices of those complaining? Most of the people are too busy enjoying the features the people are Âing about.
If one person likes a feature, Mojang did a good job. If a dozen like it, they did a great job. If a million like it, they did an amazing job.

That is great for Jeb! This may be overstepping on some toes but if that is the case does this mean Jeb might be open to releasing a compatible version of Minecraft for Windows 8?. I understand Notch's feelings on the topic but those of us that have windows 8 still want to be able to play Minecraft without having to downgrade our drivers to Windows 7, for this is the only why I have found to get it to work on Windows 8.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
Notch must be kicking himself now jeb wants to turn the game into an adventure game because as he stated he doesnt like the idea of the game anyway. Im sure notch remembers the game he sold to millions was a sandbox and not jebs childish excuse to rip notches costomers off by breaking the game. I know that hes only just getting started, but that doesnt mean its not gonna get worse.
Another thing to note, the farming changes will meen servers will have big problems because worlds will need to be alot bigger for the same amount of people so big servers will have to upgrade. automation make sure everyone on the server has access to resorces.
and. people that work wont be able to build much because the game is based of working fields and digging.

Am I like the only person on this forums who still thinks Minecraft is a good game after 3 years of playing it? I mean seriously, Jeb hasn't done that bad of a job with it. I like an adventure style game, and that's what this game can offer really. Survival and Hardcore for the adventurers, and Creative for the sandboxers.
Coming from a map builder, I think the new updates give us alot more to offer. Stuff that I couldn't use in my maps before are gonna be added, frankly, i'm excited for 1.8

People are still mad Jeb is in control instead of Notch? He handed control to Jeb. I don't know why anyone would think he didn't trust Jeb and his vision of the game.
Under Jeb's watch we've had tons of new content and regular, weekly updates. Notch went back on his own statements plenty of times from Minecrafts conception, because that's how ideas grow. It was moving in a more adventure-focused direction long before he handed over control.
Minecraft never catered to one specific type of player (the sandbox player). There are players who just enjoy exploring, or just farming, or just redstone engineering, or just pvp. There's nothing that's been added to the game that makes "sandbox" play impossible. And if you truly think there is, there's always an older version of the game.

Completely agree. If it weren't for jeb pushing so hard, we wouldn't have pistons. Notch, please stay away from Minecraft from this point forward.
