this change is nice Jeb_ is like al_cart while notch is the main course, we have already had the main course though, so we need to have the sides, its great that hes adding the mod api, and no more big updates to mc for a while! =) i like it when it stays the same lol

Does anyone realize that Jeb is agains a lot of the things that are in the game? Jeb will remove the thing that lets light go threw the crack of stairs. and did anyone else know that even though notch will totally force threw another dragon but with jeb in charge how long do you think that will take? a year is what I'm betting on. the second Minecraft goes down the tube (which i hope it doesn't) i will totally blame it on Jeb. you do also relise that although the pre releases are fun we could of had beta 1.8 two weeks sooner if Jeb had not said that it needed testing. if you don't believe me look up stairs, dragons and beta 1.8 (adventure update) on the minecraft wiki.
People are being too pessimistic about this. Most of Minecraft you see, has been worked on by Jeb. In fact, without him, Minecraft would be a dull game. Jeb is one of the best; he'll bring minecraft far.
It's a sad day. I started playing back when this game was only notch and mojang was only just starting. On the other hand Jeb_ has done 80% of the work since 1.6.5 and seams to make stuff happen less buggy and is willing to add mods into the game to expand the game more. I saw this coming so it doesn't worry me. This change is for the best.
This may sound awful to some, but I'm sort of relieved. Notch made an excellent game and what he created with his initial vision was ground-breaking, for sure. But I feel that the rapid and comprehensive success that Minecraft has garnered for him and his company turned him into something of a poison to Minecraft's future. I honestly feel that he let it get to his head.
Jens taking over wipes the slate clean in my mind, and I think his putting the modding API at the top of his list of priorities sets an exciting tone for the future. :smile.gif: I'm very excited to see what his vision will bring in the next few months.
Well, Minecraft will never be the same. However, more useful things will be added. Just look at The other things Jeb_ has worked on. Pistons, Wolves, And the structures. Perhaps, Minecraft Might make turn for the better, or mabye it will get worse. All we can do is play the waiting game. Mabye Jeb_ can be persuaded by the community to out mods into the game, like Mo' Creatures, or Millinarre. (I spelt it wrong.)
I will miss Notch a lot, but Thankfully, there is a Jeb_ to fill the gap.

All these pony-based signatures aren't going to win these people any respect.
I hate how everyone's saying that JEB did more work. Notch started Minecraft. He added chickens. Cows. Sheep. Pigs. CREEPERS. Jeb fixes one bug and everyone starts celebrating that he did more work. Think, people. Notch has been the person along this all along. He's been what makes you happy in Minecraft. Mountains? Was him. Dungeons? Was him. Strongholds? Was him. Think for a bit and you'll see what Notch did and what Jeb did. Seperate the two and you got Notch leading by a milestone.
To all the people that hate minecraft now just because Jeb is the lead developer Notch is still developing it but just not the lead developer. still Jeb should be liked just as much as notch because Jeb was just as good as Notch.
