*Bump*
I don't understand how to do those parts, aka the feet/hands.
Also, I want to have on my left leg at the left side a sword in a sheath, but i don't know how to make it if there is a way to have a 3d on a 3d plane, help?
Okay, I think I figured out how legs/arms work, thanks to the old format. The bottom 16x12 part of each arm/leg is the 4 sides of said arm/leg. The top 8x4 part of each arm/leg is the bottom/top of said arm/leg. The left 4x4 is for the top, and the right 4x4 is for the bottom (foot/hand). Hope this helps people!
Still cannot figure out how to make the 3d on the 3d plane for making a sword in a sheath, that I would still need help with. I don't know how to make the sides of the sheath (It's a leather-like band holding the bottom of the sword. The sword itself is a hat, yet I don't know how to make the sword not look like a *floating* strand of pixels from looking from the front of the skin).

Please, tell me that /clone can work across dimensions ...
As in:
/clone my base to the nether.
Start over, generate a brand-new overworld in 1.8.
Keep the old nether
/clone my base out of the "copy of the old nether" into the overworld
Delete the old nether, and get a brand new one.
PLEASE tell me this will work :-)
(I'll use the end if I can't use the nether.)
There's no "dimension" argument so you cannot do this in the current snapshot.
However, you can put it in suggestions to add a dimension variable to the "/clone" command.
Then they can not function well the old textures from 1.0.0?
The skins will have different textures size?
Because it is assumed that the skins of normal size can work well and do not seem to function well, it is better the skins of their original texture.
Ah but I hope you put the Skirt part, For girls who want to make skirts.
I'm not sure if i should be happy for the new layers and how they will make my skins better (not to mention fake armors),or if i should be desperate because all my skins will have to be remade...i guess the first :3.
It doesn't really matter, since they will find a way to make the game laggier and finally make it unplayable for me as well.
...because loading a few additional pixels in every player's skin is going to make any difference compared to the millions of blocks rendered around you.
I doubt it.
Well, it could if you're on a multiplayer server with tons of people. There's a lot of transparency it'd have to render on all of the skins. I don't think it'd cause TOO much lag, but I think it could potentially cause some lag.
If you enchant something at level 30 (now takes 3 Lapis also to do) it's broken. Once your item is enchanted you will still have 27 levels of experience leftover. You still need to hit level 30 to trigger the option on the enchanting table but it doesn't use all your XP to actually put an enchantment on an item.

Yeah. It's the same way a lot of people make normal skins. The top half of the template is the same as current skin. The bottom half of the template has the new 'hat' layers, and extra arm/leg.
Once I make the skin, how do I upload it to minecraft in order to use it? Do I have to download the snapshot or something?

They WILL make it laggier,as usual.

Anyways, I like the skin changes. Thanks Mojang!

From what I can tell, old skins are still compatible with the skin server
It's a bug, and it is fixed by Dinnerbone, likely for the next snapshot

I'm assuming this is a bug.
