Building on last week's Snapshot, Mojang continues the drive to give mapmakers even more awesome tools (and fix some bugs too)! What's on this week's Snaphot?
FEATURE LIST (MAP-MAKER EDITION!):
/tp now supports rotation arguments
Player selectors (@p, @e, etc) now support cubic areas. For example: @e[x=0,y=0,z=0,dx=10,dy=10,dz=10] gets all entities between 0,0,0 and 10,10,10
Added /clone command to copy large areas to other areas
Added a /fill command to fill a large area with a block
Skins have undergonie some changes as well! You can now set different textures for different body parts (instead of one "arm" texture, etc), as well as apply a "hat" layer to any body part, not just the head! Not enough awesome? What if you could toggle any layer parts on your body? You can do that too! Customizing your skin has never been easier, or more cool. Give it a try!
Be right back, I'm going to go server-hopping without my mask.
Please, tell me that /clone can work across dimensions ...
As in:
/clone my base to the nether.
Start over, generate a brand-new overworld in 1.8.
Keep the old nether
/clone my base out of the "copy of the old nether" into the overworld
Delete the old nether, and get a brand new one.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Asymmetrical skin design woo-hoo! And jackets?! I don't know what they are but I want one. I already have an idea to add a removable quiver on my back, with a chest-strap around the front, by making a jacket mostly transparent - that is, if it is in fact an editable area around the torso, similar to they way the hat works on the head.
So we're going to be able to have like, two sets of clothing per skin? o-o
I wonder if in the future they'll be adding the ability to swap PARTS of skins on the fly whilst in game, how awesome would that be?! O.O
Being able to literally change clothing in a Roleplay server, have work uniforms and special regal outfits for royalty and space-suits in sci-fi role-play that could be drawn from a list by a command block or something, only covering specific portions of a characters body on the hat layer and reverting to their original skin texture when done! O-O
I've never used MCedit, but the clone tool looks incredibly useful. Cant wait to give it a try.
About the skins though, will we have to redraw all of the skins we've used before this update?

MCEdit: Minecraft World Editor
Well, bugger, he still can't play any of the snapshots......
Although, I'm really loving the slime blocks! - Best update, ever ;)!

Also, prepare for asymmetric teen skins! Imagine some of them will have hoodies and torn sleeves, and more gunslingers!
