My first time with minecraft, my friend owned it, was either the first beta, or just before during alpha. I had no clue what I was doing, even though he had shown me the basics. All I understood was that night was going to bring monsters, and I would need protection. So I went to the nearest beach and made a sand "castle". I had moats that were full of running water from the pond nearby, and random little walls strewn about the mess I called a castle. It worked pretty effectively, until the spiders came. I only had a stick as a weapon/tool, but I fought with gusto. Still died at least fifty times, but still gusto. The next morning I dug into the dirt hillside, made a door, and hid all day, expecting more monsters.

Remember, if you write something let others read it! Or if you are an artist, do the same!
Normally I would put an advertisement for a game that doesn't exist or a stupid sign telling you you've got a virus.
Not today.

I remember...AN AMAZING TREEHOUSE! I actually somehow, unlike anyone else, was able to build a treehouse that looked like it was build by a pro. I was a natural at minecraft. This was in the days before tall grass and maps, and wolves were new. I remember the huge beta 1.6 update that made minecraft its best. If only mojang had stopped there. Tall grass was enough! Statistics and achievements added better goals to the game! Redstone was cool and didn't need anything else. Everybody thinks 1.0.0, the official release, ruined minecraft, but it was actually release of beta 1.7, not 1.8 or 1.9 or 1.3.1 with fancy useless emeralds. 1.6 was perfect...it's gone now. But the new 1.6, the new launcher changed minecraft again, for the slightly better. Off to play beta versions now.
NEVERMIND I NEVER WANT TO PLAY CRAPPY OLD MINECRAFT BETA EVER AGAIN THE RESOURCE PACK IS ENOUGH DONT SCARE ME I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID!
Well me... I came into Minecraft without knowing anything. I didn't even knew that this game existed until my friend told me. Just the name made me though this game was gonna be stupid. So I gave it a try on my friend's account. It was Beta 1.6.6. He was trying to tell me what to do, but I didn't listen. He did tell me to make walls or a hole in the ground or run around the world for a night. So I made two walls with a big crater in front me out of dirt. I thought I was safe until I saw a skeleton. So I jump into the crater and made a hole on the side. I hid there until morning. And I heard something and he told me it was a spider. He told me spiders don't attack in the morning. But I waited. And it would still be there. So I walk out of my hole and on top of me was either a one or two wide spaced blocks. It was big enough for me to see the spider crawl above me and walk away. That scared me....really bad. That was the highlight for my first time playing Minecraft. I became a big Minecraft freak after my first time playing. I use to love making two houses and having paths between them. In the path there would be a cave house with windows to see into the cave even more. (I was a huge, huge, huge wimp when it came to caves up until maybe 1.2 is when I became used to it.) I use to love building things, such as this one world I had when Beta 1.7 came out. I had one of my all time favorite worlds even to this day, now it's gone :(. I still wish I had it. But to this day, I haven't really played minecraft since Beta 1.8 came out(and I was waiting for that update for a long time). I still play it once in a while, but that's mostly older versions or to check out the new updates. Then I don't play minecraft for the next month or so.

I remember my first day. It was probably about mid 2011 and I was using my friends account i sat there on the beach spam clicking on trees until i realized I had to hold the mouse down to break things and that almost all I remember and a few times when I fell in lava and lost just about everything. I also found out that I liked redstone and the like. I found tekkit, it was love at first sight I played that forever until I have done everything and I was playing what is the old tekkit it was great i have never seen a version of minecraft like it. and that's a little bit of my story
I first downloaded the game on September the 18th, 2010, on the day of the last seecret update in mid-late Alpha (those were the days). I was told about the minecraft wiki when I first started playing, so I didn't really have any crafting problems. I saw that I needed torches to keep the monsters at bay and so I went and explored the terrain for coal. I spent a good portion of that day with my crappy wooden pick and shovel looking for coal, but it seemed to elude me; it was nowhere to be found. Now, there weren't any beds or charcoal or things of that nature when I began playing, so I was kind of forced to spend the night in darkness. On top of that, I hadn't created a home to settle myself in because I spent the entire day looking for coal. I don't quite remember how I got my first death, but what I do remember is that mobs like to spawn camp, so I pretty much died immediately after respawning. At this point I was in a mad panic and I decided to make a panic bunker a few meters ahead of my spawn point. This bunker consisted of a stairway into the ground, which I sealed off with dirt. Then, the next morning, I headed out and found coal and in that same mountain where I found coal, I built my home. I still have that world and all of the things I built in it.

My first Night in minecraft was not a my first night, It was my first day. I immedately began the online Experience, back when minecraft was 1.07 or something like that, Had no clue about the game, I think the hardest part was not knowing there were instructions to the game. Well I found spawn and was taking my time talking to the players, but I ventured off into the Wilderness as this was a survival vanilla server, this was back before all the addon's that the servers had it was pretty sweet really. As I went into the wilderness, I found some forrest, and started Gathering wood, I remembered someone told me that it would be important to set up a shelter in the night because zombies would come or whatnot. Well As I was gathering wood in the forrest it started to rain and thunderstorm. I started to get freaked out because I didn't know Zombies spawned under trees, needless to say I was like, OMG holy crap I ran for my life dropped my wood to the nearest cave, but little to my knowledge I didn't know zombies lived there in the darkness too, Someone told me to build tortches but I couldn't figure it out, or find any coal. So I was in the cave for a few minutes and I heard GURRR ARRRGGGH I was like OMG almost peed my pants...screaming like A girl I ran outside the cave again in the Pitch black dark, and dug a hole and waited till morning, Needless to say I heard many Groans and spider noises all night while I was scared...I dug out of the hole to look out in the morning and a spider jumped down my hole ate me Lol... That was my first day in minecraft, Then Some people PVP me, on the server as I was exploring, I didn't live very long as a noob but It made me want to play more. But the best thing about those days, was there were no rules, A server full of resources, mobs, people and no other stuff. I did learn one thing though my brightness on my monitor was too low to see at night, I discovered if you turn the Brightness down on your monitor, to where Nighttime is pitch black it makes minecraft a whole lot more interesting good times...
My first night I don't really remember in Minecraft although in the early beta days it was back before chunks were properly saved to file and Minecraft was going through the unstable early beta releases.
I wandered around aimlessly for hours just exploring the randomness and coming back after Minecraft stopped redrawing it's screen to try try again. I learned the hard way that ugly green armless men (creepers) wanted to find me and kill me!
One of the first early experiences I remember once Minecraft really settled down was building my first base, such as it was. It was a room hollowed out to 7 tiles high and about 12 x 12 or thereabouts in size despite the fact that we could only reach about 4 tiles high and filled with double chests all spaced out on the floor for storing resources in. Before I left that world, I had created a somewhat long minecart rail system, complete with powered minecart which propelled me along to a digging area. :-)
Another early experience was before they introduced biomes, but after beds were invented and made the night go away: I got lost exploring around my base, swum away from all of the monsters trying to kill me and after a lot of swimming, decided to build a new hidey-hole, I finally found a nice-looking location, and started building and renovating the interior, only to find as I was digging and backfilling the back of a hill out, expanding my space as I went, that my old hidey hole was less than twenty blocks away from me, complete with door!
The early days of Minecraft were the most interesting, this was when creepers would come over and blow you up one after the other and you had to be mindful of your spawn point which could also be filled with mobs hanging around waiting for you to respawn if you chose to respawn at night! Nowadays, I get wool, and resources for the first night, and go off and find a nice looking location to dig out a hidey-hole or somewhere safe! I dug into one spot in my early days and discovered a spider spawner complete with these spiders who were crazy about trying to fit into a 1-wide gap to kill me!
my first night was awesome i was not aware that torches kept mobs away so i was shocked to see that frendly green four legged cactus thingy in my house hissing at me he was even nice enough to help me expand my house a lttle. oh what fun!
I remember playing on the Glacier seed and being lost within the forest part... I didn't really want to dig into the cave to make my house, but I didn't have another choice at the time.
I bought MineCraft about the same time as you! I Remember when i first seen it from my brothers friend So i new a few things But me and my brother just got random stuff and tried to see if we could make stuff like obsidian tools.... I Built my house and went exploring and I lost my home And while i was trying to find my way back I was crying because of ZOMBIES and other mobs ( I was 10 then )
So like a noob. "RAGEQUIT!!!!" I created an other one and I still have it Now it has 4 towns and More but i stopped playing it because of future updates... I Loved MineCraft then And there wasn't much to do then But I still liked it... Now I'm A Boss At it now! I Watch YouTube videos that are made now and I Think If they only Got it before.. ( Because they don't Know what the heck there doing But if they got it sooner they would know more!) Thank you Sacheverell For Making this post because I always wanted to tell This story!
My first night in minecraft was back in beta 1.2 I spawned in a forest and was trying to figure out how to get the wood and all. it started to get dark so i made myself a dirt mound around me to protect myself. i waited and waited and decided to break one block to see if it was light yet. thats when a creeper and zombie saw me and before i could seal up the hole and dig down the creeper blew everything up to bits and i was left with one heart and no sword. and the zombie ate my brains once he killed me.
My first day was very sad indeed. I did not understand what "peaceful" was and I thought monsters would still spawn on peaceful. I spent the entire night in a dirt hole, thinking that I would certainly die if I went outside. Ironically, the only things outside were pigs.
I feel like a loser now. I got Minecraft for Christmas 2012. And before that, I looked up everything so I knew how to make things and what different mobs there were, and which ones were passive or hostile. lol.
I spent my first night alllll the way back in late alpha, mid august '10. I did /NOT/ know how to play at all. I found out (on my own) how to destroy blocks. I did not know that tools existed, so I decided to try to get stone. I got about a 3x4 (2 tall) room under a tiny dirt island.
