I started in Alpha, when I started I didn't understand how to place blocks just how to break them. So on my first day I spent all my time making water go down a ravine by breaking blocks, I accidentally worked out how to place a block one day when breaking some dirt. The fun started from there.
On my first night I immediately started by punching a tree. Then, I made a wood pickaxe, mine 20 stone and made all of the essentials (stone pick, shovel, sword, hoe, axe, crafting table, furnace). After that, I chopped some tree made a house and started mining. Mid mining I opened to LAN and my brother logged in he MURDERED some sheep and made 2 beds. We slept through the night and took off.
By the 3rd day I had found diamonds and constructed a nether portal. Upon reaching the nether i was greeted by a squad of ghast. The first one was slain by my trusty bow & arrow, but the next one simultaneously blew me up with a fire ball (good bye diamond chestplate/pick ) . determined to get revenge, I scavenged minecraft wiki for a way to defeat my foe. At last I found the answer and upon returning to the nether that ghast got a face full of rejected fireball.
After many days of productive game-play, I finally ran into a stronghold and, more importantly, an END PORTAL. I go through, and the enderdragon kicks my butt.
THE END
My first night? Beta 1.5 in someone else's world. I was new to minecraft ok? My first NEW world was in peaceful. I used to be scared of the mobs (don't know why really). I knew zombies and skeletons and spiders were in the game... Until I finally changed to Easy difficulty. Creepers were everyone's nemesis. So that's the story of my first ever time in Minecraft, my first world I created and my first time in easy mode. Can't say it was much different. I cheated a lot using INVedit. I didn't know how to make tools. I just decided to change to easy one day in a new world and play legit. Little did I know, changing to easy was going to be my greatest decision ever! And later in the updates, worse (skeletons seriously can't aim at creepers very well).
My first day on Minecraft was like this: (Btw the version was 1.8 Beta) Daytime So I made my first world (I think it was called Minecraft Land) and I knew nothing about the game except that people compared it ALOT to ROBLOX (I was 8 when I first joined Minecraft). So I spawned in, and I couldn't punch anything besides leaves, because I thought you had to button mash the left mouse key to mine things. I just wandered around the world, exploring what I could. Then, before I knew it, it was night.
Night
I didn't know how to change the difficulty at first so I was on Normal my first night. I just still wandered around, not knowing about the mobs that populate the night. I still wandered around and then (I am not joking when I say this) I came across a spider jockey. I think I did two things at the same time. 1.) Wonder why the heck a skeleton with a bow was riding a spider, and 2.) Ran. I ran away from it, but it caught up since I did not know how to sprint. I climbed a mountain and I lost it. Then, two zombies walked in front of me, and I tried to fight them back. I killed one of them, and then a creeper came behind me and exploded, killing me. Then, I watched some minecraft tutorials and then soon got my revenge by slaughtering a few creepers with a stone sword, sprinting and then hitting them so they didn't explode.
I had been following Minecraft on Youtube for about a year when I got the game during 1.3. I played on Normal the first time. Found a desert temple almost immediately, explored and got some good stuff, can't remember what. Anyways, that night I went caving and with my extremely laggy computer, managed to get killed by a skelly. I raged and deleted the world, and that's it.
Hey there, all. I stream CTMs as well as other indie games, Minecraft servers and probably that's it. I'm your supreme overlord too so I command you to CHECK ME OUT: www.twitch.tv/techniclepanther
Nothing amazing really happened... I dug myself into a two block deep dirt hole just as night fell. Somehow I came to the conclusion that I was stuck and couldn't escape, so I waited ALL night until morning came and it was bright enough to actually see (didn't know there was a brightness option). Then I just broke a block and walked on out, feeling a bit sheepish.
I saw my brother playing on a classic server just a bunch of random blocks his friend told him about it. Since naturally I wanted to do everything he did I wanted to play Minecraft. When I made my account I realized: All this time I had no official username! I decided to go with SharkMonster since this game wasn't popular yet this name wasn't taken.
Survival at it's clueless.
I saw my brother playing survival when it was first introduced. He was building a creeper trap. I tried this I started to hit blocks with a stick he told me that you could make tools thus began my drug add Minecraft addiction.
I remember my first time. i spawned by a beach that was by a tundra biome. I didn't know much back then and needed something to do so i went to the achievements and looked at what there was. There, i saw building a crafting bench. I didn't know how to build one so i just tried placing two wood blocks together. Eventually I got tired of failing and looked it up and slapped my face for being so stupid. i placed it down and saw something black out of the corner of my eye. Not knowing what it was i turned but it quickly vanished. I wonder if this was a new mob not mentioned in the game so I looked around for it but didn't find anything. I later returned to my crafting bench and made an axe and a pickaxe. Then, I ventured into the tundra and saw it turning night so i built into the side of a hill and made my home there. i wanted to see the mobs so i went outside and quickly climbed a tree as a zombie attacked! I was scared because this game was new and i had only known so little. I decided to make a sword but I was still to cowardly to face any mobs. Finally, I got the courage to fight. I headed to the skeleton but a zombie came from behind and I whacked him with my sword. Then, I headed to the skeleton who shot me and killed him, but I saw a creeper ahead. He didn't appear to be after me so I turned around to head home. But guess what was waiting behind my back. A creeper appeared behind me and blew up! I survived with only a little health left. and headed to my house and left the game. I didn't play minecraft for a while after that, but im older now. Da end :P.
My first time playing was a little... pathetic. I had heard about Minecraft from somewhere, but I don't remember now where that was. All I understood about the game was what was printed on minecraft.net - monsters came out after the sun came down and how to move. I was wanting to play a hack-and-slash, so I tried it out.
I started a game and am popped into a bright and colorful world of cubes. I opened my inventory, thanks to the notes about the game, and found a bunch of cubes I could use. Starting to realize this might not be quite what I was thinking, I made a glass spiral tower so I could focus my attacks and run to safety if need be, while still being able to see what's after me.
Five minutes passed after I'd made a small defensive position, and it wasn't night yet. Seeing that it was taking a while to become night, I carefully expanded my defenses, because a long prep-time means lots of enemies, based on my experiences in other games. An hour after starting, night still had not come, and I started having my doubts.
Turns out that the demo didn't have nights, or even monsters. I had wasted an hour building up defenses for an attack that would not, and could not, ever come.
And that was how I spent my first never-night.

I program
Heh, my first world was in creative. A friend told me how to make a portal, and I eventually got lost in the Nether. Eventually, I corrupted the world through crazy NBT editing, but sometimes I still try to fix it with MCEdit or similar programs.
Yeah, not as interesting as a survival story, but hey, you asked for it!
Kids these days...
Back in my day, we didn't have this new-fangled Creative business. I wandered around aimlessly, got killed by spiders, and LIKED IT! Dang whippersnappers.
As I awoke on the beach, I looked about. I was mad at my mouse sensitivity so I put it all the way up. The grass is neon green. (R.I.P Alpha Grass) The trees leaves are not quite fond of the human eye. It also appears to have no sound (something I'd fix later). I wandered about, spamming left click. I finally learned to hold it down, by testing on dirt. Figuring trees can be used for something I got punched wood until my knuckles bled. I excitedly held a newly acquired stack of logs. That was the bright side. The bad side was the fact it was starting to become night. I couldn't really see, so I made a 1x3 hole, and covered the top of the hole. I made a little hole to see when it was day every so often.
DAY 2
Hopping out of my hole, I attempt to make a makeshift cabin/hut/another hole in the side of a mountain by punching with my fist. Going into my inventory after going to the options-> controls, I figured out 'I' was inventory(duh!). I put various things into the 'crafting' boxes, finally getting the option for wooden planks. Using all my wood for these planks, I tried crafting with my wooden planks. I made a crafting table, and placed it on the ground. I got some more wood from the forest next to me, and made some sticks from when I made a crafting table, but had the option to make sticks. With these sticks and planks, I made some top-quality wooden tools. I ventured into a cave and attempted battle with a green camouflaged monster. He blew up, and as did I.

Day: "Lots of trees, oh look, something to kill!" -kills pig with bare fist as it stays still- "Meat huh? There's no hunger bar, so i'm sure this heals." -looks up at a moving sun- "Okay, i'm guessing that it gets to night here....and rather quickly. That can only mean one thing... i better hustle." -makes dirt house and sand roof with open windows, it turns to night when i'm doing the roof-
Night:
"Um, okay..." -finishes off house roof and looks over off below to meet the eyes of a creeper- "Uhhh... Hi?"
-Creeper just stands there staring at me- "Okay, your expression tells me to avoid you, so i'll just camp out here on my roof till day."
-stares at the creeper until a skeleton punctures me with a few arrows, effectively pushing me off the roof and landing on the creeper-
SSSSSSSS "Oh god... don't tell me they..." BOOM.
-Game Over-
"Explode..."
-respawn, luckily i had the idea to build near where i spawned, i walk a few miles to see that the creeper naturally had done quick work of the mud house-
"Egh..." -sees the skeleton die from the sun, promptly nelson laughs at it-

After that i learned to hack my way into a hill and set up a door first. That suited me quite fine till i learned the ropes.

Back in my day, we didn't have this new-fangled Creative business. I wandered around aimlessly, got killed by spiders, and LIKED IT! Dang whippersnappers.
Indeed. I derped onto creative with help from Too Many Items. I really should get back to actually surviving again.
So here is my story (this is in minecraft 1.1) Day 1:
I Spawned (duh). The area i spawned in was a perfect minecraftian world to live, a forest on a peninsula, with a hill on the end. I first punched trees until i had a, pickaxe, axe, shovel, chest. I then proceded to start a 2x2 mine going down into the earth using torches (i found coal almost immediatly) and tried to go as far as possible, then when my pickaxe broke I went back up to the surface to face the horrors of nighttime. Lets just say I paniced a little bit... But then i gathered my wits and built my first sword, them zom zoms...are now dead dead... Day 2:
After that night I decided to build my house, I then converted the first few steps down in my mine into my new bunker. This bunker happened to be inside the hill at the end of that peninsula. So anyway I found that mobs would wait on the side of the wall for me then suddenly come out of nowhere and attack me, so i built a wall with a gate around my house that kept them out. I did notice a problem of creepers ninja leaping out of nowhere from on top of the cliff i had formed in the hill... Day 3-10: I decided to make the most inpregnible fortress in minecraft...that happened to be the most difficult to build...The underwater Base...I started to make a quarry to gather the building materials, and started building, first i started with air pockets that also made light bulbs underwater. After about 6 minecraft days i made the main area for my base that is now "dry" and with a glass pane wall that allowed me to look at the ocean. The next day i built a second "Pod" next to the first that I used as a underwater "artifical" farm of wheat. That is all i can remeber of my first few nights...

The first time I played I knew what to do because I would always watch the yogscast while saving up money. While still scary I knew what to do and quickly got to work on making shelter.
My first day in Minecraft WAS actually night. Friends finally peer pressured me into getting the game so I could play on their Minecraft server. I knew of the game so I had an idea of what to do, but I wasn't familiar with the Minecraft Wiki so I didn't know there was a place I could go to look up how to make certain things.
Their spawnpoint was nowhere near the village they had made together, and no one was on that I knew, so I was left to wander by myself and try to find it. I was chased by zombies and spiders and was wailing like a ten-year-old girl because it was unexpected. Eventually I found a small lighthouse set up on a sand island, with a tamed wolf sitting outside. (I started just after wolves became tamable). Not knowing any better, I thought I would pet/feed the dog with a bone. Imagine my surprise when it attacked me for my offering! Fortunately, wolves are not good swimmers, so I was able to escape its wrath by getting back in the water.
One friend logged in and found me huddling in ankle-deep water in the middle of the darkness. He took pity on me and lead me to the safety of the village. Once night turned to day, he showed me around and I went out and punched my first tree. I set up a little 3x3 starter shack on the border between some grasslands and desert, and together we started digging downwards to make a mine. Night had fallen again but it didn't matter as much this time because we had the safety of an enclosure above us.
Or so we thought.
We came back up during the daytime and headed out to get more supplies. I didn't see the creeper who was hugging up against the side of the shack until it was too late. It wasn't after me, however. I stepped out of the door in time to turn around and watch my friend--and two-thirds of my start shack--get blown into a sizeable crater.
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"
Yes, I did yell that out loud at my computer.
After that I went on to make my own farm, then my own railroad network, then my own town. I've run my own Minecraft server and just passed it on to a friend so I could pursue other things. There are days when I wish I could go back and be that new to Minecraft again. There was just something special about the sense of newness and discovery in that first Minecraft day.
The first night in minecraft I spent in a little dirt fortification on the side of a hill. All I could see were shady creepers among the forests and skeletons and zombies at the border of my field of vision. The minute I stepped outside my house the next morning I was surprised by two spiders jumping in from above and scaring the hell out of me. Once I got over the fright I tried to fight them off until what is now an all too familiar hissing noise was behind me...
By the 3rd day I had found diamonds and constructed a nether portal. Upon reaching the nether i was greeted by a squad of ghast. The first one was slain by my trusty bow & arrow, but the next one simultaneously blew me up with a fire ball (good bye diamond chestplate/pick
