I don't know if we should believe them. I mean, it IS April fools. The updates, also, are a little bit too extreme. I don't think we should get our hopes up, but I'm not sure. I really hate the internet on this day. LOL
You can't download it. It is in closed beta. If you got it off the internet, then it probably isn't real. Although I still don't buy this 2.0 minecraft yet.
Actually guys, a lot of this is an April Fools joke, but some of it might just be added into the 1.6 update some, including generations the breeding, tinted glass and so on. Certain things have a high chance of being real. So, keep your hopes up not all is fake!
I know it's fake, it's April fools after all..but at the same time, quite a bit of this "update" wouldn't be bad to actually add.
New storage blocks, tinted glass, mud block, Hay bales, and slime blocks. Most of the "Fishing" section up until 'remove fishing', and most of "World generation & terrain". Even the exploding animals isn't bad. You could make a cool farm out of it, and it'd give you more to do with your wheat.
I'm also all for a harder game mode..not one that's forced on you, but a selectable one. I always thought Minecraft was too easy, once you get a house set up, you're pretty much safe unless you explore caves..and even then, once you get weapons/armor, you're pretty safe.
I'm hoping even though it's a joke, that some of these features are a hint towards future updates. Because as said, quite a few of them would be good.
I hate the the new heating of furnaces and the torches. I hate the chickens. I hate so many things in it. If most of it isn't an April Fool: What's wrong with you Mojang?
So, I can confirm. This is a joke. I played the version on the assets and guess what the splash text was? APRIL FOOLS in large magenta letters. Also, I played a little bit, and while I can not confirm how many features reported here are in the .jar, the Super Hostile thing is, which is probably just a way to keep players THINKING this is legit, but however they cannot progress, so no way of knowing.
While an update like this would be awesome, I think it's a really cool thing Mojang went to these lengths just to troll us all. *sniff* Dinnerbunny, Jeb, All of you guys working so hard over there at Mojang, this is the BEST APRIL FOOLS JOKE EVER. And let it go down in history as it. I mean, last year we had.... I don't remember, and the year before we had.... Dinosaurs and Supply Crates. Now.... we have fake .jars that are awesome and stuff. Absolutely outstanding.
