I think the idea of adding horses was great! Its a quick and fun way to get around! Way better than riding pigs around that's for sure!
come on, pigs are fun! it is a unique thing about minecraft. horses are too obvious a mode of transportation. Jeb, Dinnerbone, don't just start adding things that make the most sense, keep the level of imagination that made this game so great!
They're also adding something like continents as well, right? Where they put the biomes that seem to "work" together near each other and leave no room for anything else? Sigh... I'll miss having taigas next to deserts... I pity future generations of Minecraftians.

I didn't like 1.6 because it only added horses and a few relatively easy things that I myself could have modded (not including the horses) even though I've never written code before. But the idea of horses itself isn't all that bad... why exactly do you hate them?

Stop hating on Jeb and Dinnerbone for adding sunflowers. You don't even have to use them. Nobody hated on Notch like this. I am certain if Notch was on minecraft, he would have added these things as well. As for the horses, they aren't that bad really. If you don't want any of that stuff in your game just switch back to an earlier update using the new launcher that Jeb made. You people have no excuse to hate now.

They could always be eaten as seeds (melon and cookie style) or they can be used to power some diesel type engine. Upgraded furnace and similar in a very simplified manner? *shrugs*
I doubt the engine part. Would be cool, but in vanilla Minecraft... it sounds a little less minecrafty. I knew seeds are edible, I hope that in Minecraft too. I hope you could actually farm these things too.
It doesn't harm the game, it add a new feature that you don't have to use. If you don't like them don't plant them. I think it will be a nice edition personally.

The wiki page NEVER confirmed Red Dragons. It says planned, possible, but it does NOT say confirmed. If you don't like the game, then GET OUT OF THE FORUMS.
a lot of things added to minecraft arent needed, but they're fun. not everything is designed to make everyone happy, just the majority. and from what ive heard pretty much 90% of the community is excited for this update, including the flowers. if you dont like it, downgrade your version using the new loader, dont use the flowers, or just stop playing, you and everyone else not liking this update have many methods to avoid it. stop complaining... its embaressing really.
If you haven't noticed, I am a modder. And modders don't just "stop playing". The embarrassing things are the things I've heard Jeb say. All he is doing is trying to avoid coding the important things. He is relying on modders to send code in to him for certain features, and that honestly is the most embarrassing thing that a game developer could do. I don't have to stop complaining, the only way to get Jeb to do anything is to have the community complain about the game and that is simply what I'm doing. You should read his twitter and see the things he's said, along with the things he has said at Minecon.

You just have to give them some time. Before we get dragons and pandas, there's going to be alot of things coming before hand that you will find useless. Sunflowers need to be something useful like you could make sunflower oil and you it as fuel maybe? Animal food?
I think the sunflowers are a good idea. I agree that there should be sunflower oil, and I think you could use it as a less efficient replacement to redstone. There also could be sunflower seeds that you could plant and grow sunflowers with. You maybe could also eat the seeds. Or you can use it as a crafting item maybe. Maybe do a horizontal pattern of wheat, sunflower seeds, and wheat and make bread with sunflower seeds in it. (I don't know if that exists even. >u<) It could fill you two bars instead of one.
The handy thing about them is that they point east, so you don't have to rely on the sun or the tremendously bogus compass. They'd also be nice for decorating. :3
I am super excited about the falling particles. It would make the game seem way more realistic. Also, what if you fell from a high enough place that you actually could break some blocks on your way down? It'd be a weird way to harvest, but you would probably accidentally kill yourself.
I still think that thay NEED! to add Stained glass and 1/2 slabs/Stairs to every block its a Stupidly simple update to make and it would be Epic side note if thay want a easy way to find Stuff for updates thay could just look at the mods that ppl made HINT HINT! MOJANG!

I thought F3 really wasn't supposed to exist. I thought it was just a debug screen and they planned to take it out but never did.
