Well I Don't care because Bethesda (the one that makes elder scrolls) is awsome and epic and doesn't sue for gay stuff like using a word but it's counter-part Bethseda (the one no one cares about) is gay.
The ironic thing is that ever since the C&D letter people have been making jokes that intentionally confuse Scrolls and The Elder Scrolls, while no one was at all confused previously. So they've achieved exactly what they wish to prevent
Sad state of affairs when you get sued over a fair use word. scroll is a common term for a rolled piece of paper, so this lawsuit should be thrown out at the first stage. when i first saw the promo for "oblivion" game i had no idea it was part of the Elder Scrolls series. You might be able to mix these games up if you expect Bethesda to produce a game with 1990s quality graphics (it could happen).
i'll be interested to see if anything comes of this.
notch is clearly trying to use the name scrolls to get publicity from the elder scrolls who are releasing tes skyrim this year which is a viking/norse themed game, notched crappy card game is also viking/norse themed, then notch says he did not know there were games with a similar name to scrolls which is clearly a lie since any game developer who has not been living under a rock for the past 15 years knows what the elder scrolls are. also check out scrolls.com and see if the guy to the right is not similar to the guy Bethesda have been using in their advertisements.

dude, there was a post made by Notch stating that he knew and loves the elder scrolls series and Skyrim is not even close to a Viking/Norse, plus, I did not know about the elder scrolls series until very recently

You shouldn't talk about things when you don't actually know anything about them.
And honestly, Notch is making an ass out of himself by posting about this on Twitter at all; doubly so for the fact that he's actively trying to garner support against Bethesda from his ill-informed fanboys. Highly unprofessional.

I'm sorry but you must blind as a bat to think that guy on Scrolls.com is anything like the guy on the Skyrim trailers. Also, please use some proper grammer, I couldn't understand half of what your post said. Plus Notch's Scrolls game will be a buy on Scrolls.com kind of thing while Skyrim will be going to stores, so you'll learn about Skyrim first before you learn about Scrolls (If you dont know anything about Minecraft or go on the forums/Notch's twitter or his blog thing)
Well, in some points, it depends on who has more money. And honestly, its a big matter of opinion. Zenimax has a really good chance of winning considering how huge they are.

Maybe in a republic, where the law is respected, but not in a democracy. :sad.gif:
So whatever next? Would they sue a Jewish programmer who decided to release an online version of the Tanakh called "The Torah Scrolls"?

Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua. Hosanna in excelsis. †Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini. Hosanna in excelsis.†
All Email Bestheda softworks and send them an email telling them they should accept Notch's offer or they will both look really bad, and lose money. Something along those lines, I sure did.

Notch
But it would be kind of funny to watch all those big companies suing each other over who gets to sue "the".
