Hmm. Will this put a damper on Skyrim? No... but it's a good thing Notch uses "Air" blocks instead of "Sky" blocks. Both Bethesda and Notch are made entirely of win. I really hope a peaceful accord can be struck between, literally, my two favorite game producers. Notch. tell them you decided better against the original name of "Morrowrimscrolls Skyblivion" and have taken Cliff Racers from the list of upcoming mobs.
Truth: Corporations are soulless machines designed to suck up wealth and provide a layer of insulation for those who operate them. They hose down their territory with toxic filth to prevent competition in their sphere of influence. One should support (within reason, barring Malfeasance and wanton disrespect for the law) the "little guy". The sooner corporation have less rights than flesh and blood humans the better.
Some of you really need to go look up how copyright laws work. It's not about the strict usage of the word, it's about the usage of the word in certain connotations. Like making a pen and paper role-playing game called Dragons & Dungeons as opposed to Dragon Lair or Dungeon Quest.
wow. I love bethesda for the elder scrolls, and the fallout games, but wtf are they thinking? I would understand if they were pissed at someone for using the words "elder scrolls", but the word "scrolls" is a word used everywhere. RAAAAGGGGGGEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Minecraft means 3 things: Mine = its my game mine = mine stuff craft = craft stuff.
Just so yall know there is currently only one game that is developed that has Scrolls in the main name of its game. And when I reference Morrowind Oblivion and Skyrim I refer to them as Elder Scrolls. This how the world works. If Notch were to come up with a main name that was different he could still use Scrolls in the way that they use Morrowind, as a sub title. For example Notch could name his game Blah Blah Blah: The First Scrolls. And it would be fine. To this day it amazes me of the idiocracy of these forums and I've been around for a long time.

im sorry, but a competent lawyer doesnt discuss with that, since all of it is just really really unclear. So they get straight to the point: 'your copyright applications conflicts with ours. dont use that or get sued'. I dont know why thats even discussed here.
on a final note, notch doesnt do this right. the 'im just an indie dev, stop you big meanyhead companies!' doesnt work anymore, he sold 3 million copys of his one and only game in beta.
