Bethesda is sad that their Skyrim isn't on the list... Which is weird because their game is searched as Skyrim, not The Elder Scrolls 5.
Lawyers do stuff like thing all the time, it's just not very public since they strike at people privately to threaten them. Because Bethesda Softworks did this and NOT Bethesda Game Studio, it's likely that some stupid legal department is being layed off for this.
This is so stupid. 1st off: Bethesda does not 'Own' the word 'scrolls'. That is in the English language. You can't 'Own' a word. 2nd and finally: WHAT IS THE POINT OF SUEING THEM FOR A WORD!?!?!? Listen, I love Oblivion and Fallout as much as the next guy, but really!? It's really pointles to sue over the word 'scrolls', mainly because they cant own the word, and also because It makes you look desprate Bethesda. So in conclusion this is a stupid move on there part, and they will most likely lose this battle.
Note to self: If I ever get famous, pick the words I apply to describe any trouble I run into VERY. CAREFULLY. Once you unleash the rabid fans (even unintentionally) on what they THINK is happening, there is no way to change their course or minds, and you can't expect to think it through themselves. That's all I have to say on this.
I could understand the lawsuit if the two games were similar to eachother, but they aren't. Bethesda is just worried because their Fallout series is now dead and the only thing still running is the Elder Scroll series. Again, they just want the money. I bet you anything they are hoping to get millions of dollars out of this lawsuit with Mojang. I had some respect for Bethesda before, but now I want to drop them in the dumpster and hope they hit the bottom hard.
Regardless of what happens from this lawsuit, I will continue to look forward to Skyrim. <3
