I can see it now, the headline in some sort of gaming magazine- Big PC game company sues Indie company for the use of the word "scrolls" in an upcoming project. I mean seriously, thats like Valve suing Plants Vs Zombies for the use of zombies in a PC game.
You cannot own a word, its just stupid! I'm going to sue anyone who uses the word "the"!
Yes you can. I can't have a drink (or any product) called "Sprite" even though "sprite" is a word in the English language, I'd get sued to hell by the Coca-Cola company. It is called trademarking.

Wtf, Bethesda doesn't own the word "scrolls". It's like someone makes a game called "The", and some companies sue because their game has the word "The" in it too!
Does that mean minecraft should be sued by games like starcraft because they both ahve craft in it? like come on. It's a word I will be very suprised if this actually goes through.
you own your Game Series named "The Elder Scrolls"
A game named Scrolls or Elder is not motive to sue people
it would be a motive to sue someone naming a game called "The Elder Scrolls VI: belive, more stupid than the others"
But...
Scrolls in a thing and The Elder Scrolls in other!
Bethesda needs to pull their heads out of their asses and realized they don't own the word Scrolls.

COMPLAIN TO THEIR SITE!!
That isn't even the point. It doesn't matter that you said it. A trademark doesn't taboo people from saying that word.
