I'm so excited, that looks like an awesome biome. Can't wait for it to come out. I wonder what the servers will be like after the update.
Im pretty sure, why not? Its just an update.

Stop all the waiting and get the snapshot.
Im not quite sure probably soon, I hope. But for now just use another form of payment.
I updated my old world into an amplified version of this snapshot, exploring has never been so exciting.
a junction between Forest Hills and Flower Forest in Amplified looks more like a fantasy landscape than I've seen pretty much anywhere. Amplified anything with hills has been absolutely fantastic landscapes (I have a mountain range from Desert Hills to Extreme Hills+ to Forest Hills) that make exploration and adventuring far more rewarding than ever before.
I thought the horse update killed the minecart for no benefit, but now I can take Epona out on a cartography expedition, then make my mine-tracks the best possible route between the most interesting landscapes
This really gave minecraft a breath of fresh air
Mod API anytime soon? All this other stuff, while nice, is just basically fluff. Taking stuff from various mods and adding it to the game isn't the answer Mojang......
Yes it is? Integrating community creations gives a much bigger creative team, rewards modders for great work, and is probably the best way they could possibly update vanilla. "Fluff" you're referring to is what 95% of the players consider "the entire game"
In fact, I may have spoken too soon about the FPS: 13w38{a,b,c} had great FPS, but in 12w39b, I'me getting lousy FPS *and* horrible lag. Some of it clears up after chunks finish loading, but chunk render errors are still up in my face.
Another discovery: Roofed forests apparently produce fearsome forest fires. I didn't see it in action (apparently it was while I was inside furnishing my new base), but I came out one day to find the whole far shore of the river burned to trunks and floating logs, over 150 blocks deep. (But oddly limited in the cross direction, as there was unburnt forest to the sides.) Funny thing, the burned section left behind the biggest piece of flat ground I've seen in this world -- way flatter than the "plains" where I made my base.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

I'm getting a similar issue with the FPS dropping and a new map doesn't seem to help. Its not a HUGE drop, but I tried testing it with the same seeds and whatnot and there seems to be a 30FPS difference. Not sure if something changed on my end though.

^I thought I was the only one because everyone was saying that their FPS went up with this snapshot. Though this was true for me but only in the past snapshots, because 13w39... is so laggy -.-.
The rain doesn't stop..... it's been 17 "days" in a row, constant rain.... WTF
That's a current bug, MC-32671. The continued rain is illusory -- around dawn you might see undead burning despite apparently being rained on. It appears to be triggered by saving and reloading the game while it is (really) raining or storming.
Only workaround so far is to wait until the rain "should" have stopped (or use /weather clear, which will not appear to work), then exit the game program completely (not just exit-to-title). Once you log back in, weather should be normal again. Then try to avoid saving the game while it's raining, at least until they fix the @*%)$# bug.

Chests I found in one fortress gave me
17 gold ingot
3 gold horse armor
2 iron horse armor
3 saddle
10 nether wart
not sure what else they can hold but this will make hunting for nether fortresses more rewarding than just plain nether warts and blaze rods
Also found:
Iron ingot
Flint n steel
both appear to be fairly rare chance
Nope,that's poop.
From the poop mod...
That has been in the game since the 1.6 snapshots.
Wait for time
In the break of new dawn
We will never meet
EDIT: NVM ^
Woops! well... shows how often I go into the nether... >.<
