No offense to the people who love gryphons, but think about it. Why would Mojang add them? I think all they are focusing on are red dragons right now. But if it is gryphons, it would still be cool.
I have to agree - Gryphons would be cool, but it doesn't make sense to add in a new (presumably tameable) flying mob when red dragons have already been discussed by Mojang, and they can simply retexture ED.
Is any one else having trouble with the /testfor command in this new snap shot (ie: the command block not outputting a red stone signal) or is it just me?
is it just me, or is there no longer any lighting bugs??? I have flown all over the place ( mountains mostly) and I have not seen a single one! if I am wrong let me know, cause this is pretty insane. buy really is anyone else getting this?

You do realize you are responding to a sig graphic and not something this player actually mentioned in his post. There are dozens of suggested ideas and even a whole forum section just for suggestions, of which this Gryphon is but one of those many ideas (although the Gryphon is a rather well developed idea).

I am hoping this is just there for no reason at all but... that dragon egg? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me that Mojang won't make them spawn in the mesa biomes D: Or red dragons for that matter (red sand + dragon egg = red dragon?). It would just make it feel so... anticlimactic. For me, Mesa biomes were pretty common when I played the snapshots so making something that awesome in such a common area just makes the thing... not awesome D:
As far as I'm concerned, if you can't post a changelog, don't post at all. We can clearly see that there is a new snapshot on Mojang's website, so there is no need to repeat what has already been confirmed.

My quote was of a response to the post MC_Potato quoted, so, yes, it had been mentioned.
"At Minecon 2012, Jeb was asked about Red Dragons. He acknowledges that the Dragon Egg item currently has no use and that it is possible to be used for Red Dragons." -Red Dragon
If that's true, this makes things even more interesting...

I don't really think they will spawn in mesa biomes, because Mojang always publishes 1 pic for snapshot, and since they wanted to show the redsand as how it appears naturally they needed a pic from a mesa biome. Anyways, only time will tell.
Found Grumm... and a Dragon Egg. What's up with that?
When I first saw "Red Sand" in my inv, I thought it would be a manufactured sand that floats like normal blocks but when hit by redstone, would fall. Though I guess maybe Red Sand could become Redstone Sand when crafted with redstone.

At minecon years ago they said they were adding 2 dragons, a black one, the ender dragon, and a red tamable one. This must be that red dragon! See for yourself on the wiki upcoming features page, its in the ones where they aren't sure when they will be added
I am getting kind of sick of all of the new biomes. I also don't like biome-specific generation (like emeralds). I wish there were just maybe plains, forests, and deserts, (just a few of the basics), and there was no biome specific generation.
Coooool.... I love the new updates Minecraft always puts up. But the secret changelogs are quite annoying. The red sand is a very interesting block though. Along with the MAJOR updates that finally came. Mojang is finally concentrating on major updates rather than bug updates. This isn't always the best way to update the game though. I remember the memory leak that came in 1.6. The sad thing was that Optifine didn't come out for 1.6. Minecraft was essentially unplayable for me that time. Let's hope that a memory leak doesn't happen this time :P. Long live Minecraft!
