Definitely not useless content, but I don't know to what extent I will be using it. It looks a lot like some of the video tricks in Turok 2 on N64 (and therefore also South Park which used the same engine and had some of the same cheats).
But really Dinnerbone? Upside down mode? TV mode?
The stretch maps were much-needed though. Thanks for that!
just checked if it's possible to add GSL shaders into the aasets/shaders folders, turns out they're in a totally different file format so those will have to be recoded to work with future version of minecraft
Erm, no.
The shaders are .FSH or .VSH (these being the GLSL shader format, I even messed around with some a while ago trying to add bumpmapping support)
.JSON is only to access/call/configure them. The shaders in Minecraft need both the shader file and the .JSON file to work.
And before you say I'm wrong: the shaders are NOT in ~/shaders/post/ , they are in ~/shader/program/. ~shaders/post/ is just what CALLS the shaders, and the ~/shader/program/ contains more config files and the shaders themselves.
And from what I've seen, it's in GLSL form, but not with all the GLSL features. So for now it's just intended for screen effects, I think things like global lighting, bump mapping, and trippy-bending world type stuff will come later.

Has anyone noticed that tapping Ctrl while walking makes you sprint? Is this new or did I miss it in any previous snapshots? Edit: Just did some research, and realised that this was already in and not a secret. Oh well, at least I discovered it on my own. Now I shall enjoy no more sprinting glitches. Goodbye.
for some reason my starting screen is super small and i can't fix it! Well i guess with all the bug comments Mojang can fix them. After all without us they wouldn't know what the bugs are!
If you mean the screen with singleplayer and those, then not sure. I know the Mojang screen does stay small, often. Also about the bugfixes, I believe they made snapshots so people could find bugs, while the team can have more time adding content and fixing bugs.

The upsidedown was expected, considering Dinnerbone's upsidedown-ness.
Make texture packs? Tired of people telling you to upload better screencaps? Send me a message with a link to your pack & I can help. (Check my Planet Minecraft blogs for photography examples). http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/likalaruku/

Curse PremiumAnyway, I found a saturated colour setting, so that's pretty cool. Just imagine the machinima possibilities with all this stuff...
Hooray! Let's celebrate how sarcastic you are!

Retired StaffNope. They can't jump at all.
Yay, a creepy hint from an admin that probably means they will add elephants someday!...

I think the super secret will turn into a menu, if anything.
