Really wish they would stop with the whole "We're adding tons of awesome new features but shush don't say what they are" business. I mean, 1.7 looks like a HUGE update (hell, 13w36a had enough features to be it's own update and yet is just a snapshot...), and by the time we've accumulated like 12 week's worth of additional additions/tweaks it's going to take forever to follow up on the changelog and find out what's new.
Also, as a Map Developer, I like to know what features are being changed/done away with BEFORE I play my map and find out it's been shot to hell because falling sand spawners don't work anymore...
is Mojang adding all these tremendously awesomatic new features. is Sach for trying to hide them from us.
And yes, I understand it's supposed to be a humorous joke. Yuk-yuk. I'd be a lot happier for some forthrightness as to what is going on under the hood of my favorite game.
Off to the wiki to check up on the feature list we go...
Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
Be advised if you have a json stats file from a previous save, it may crash the game when you try to view your statistics. I deleted my json file and it works fine.
The new portals look cool! It's too bad they don't create equivalently huge portals in the nether. It's pretty funny wallking into a massive portal in the overworld and exiting a tiny sized one in the nether (:
peace
If it were the other way around, it would be like the Dark Portal from WoW
Wow. There is now an invisible wall at X/Z ±30,000,000. Probably a good thing because you just fall out of the world otherwise. Too bad you cant do it anymore though. That was fun.
what is that biome supposed to be?a love child of desert, forest and extreme hills?
anyways this looks epic.never tried a snapshot.then the 13w37a happened.
I miss literally infinite worlds.
Yes, I understand that the worlds are still super big however it takes away from the "infinite" aspect of Minecraft which makes it such a unique game.

Well just think of it as infinite and problem solved, because there's no way for anyone to use all the world, and actually, without cheating you probably would take weeks to get to that wall, so just play in survival mode and trick's done, there's no need for more than that, considering there was nothing after that, just empty space
I just found out that if you use flint and steal on a creeper it will blow up. Just like that. It will set it off so it just blows up.
It was also in the previous snapshot but not in 1.6.2. So it is a new feature for 1.7. Didn't see anyone mention it before.

It was nicknamed the "Disco Mountains" biome, and as far as I know, you're pretty much describing it with one exception.
There's no rain, like the Deserts.
There are lots of trees, like the Forests.
The Extreme Hills part of it, that's because of the new world type.
You know how there are Default, Large Biomes and Superflat, right?
They added one more, added directly by Notch, if I remember correctly, called the Amplified World.
Taller mountains.
Steeper cliffs.
An "Amplified" terrain generation.

made that post before i tried the snapshot.
and by desert i wasnt talking about the rain,i was saying the leaves reminded me of desert leaves for some reason.
i also tried out the amplified, dat glitchy floating sand....it is beautiful.
I more curious on what "STUFF" they've added. Time to look again
I like it better when they keep it secret like they used to in alpha. One feature not in the wiki is that in this snapshot minecraft has a invisible wall at x/y = 30,000,000 to prevent you going into the farlands
There is a known issue with world structures such as Nether Fortresses not transitioning to 1.7 from 1.6, but we will be bringing out a 1.6.3 shortly to fix this.
Everyone, prepare yourselves, because mods are gonna be broken... ...once again.

Retired StaffThough I'm still inevitably going to completely ignore it because of the time-sucking vortex that is Off-Topic...
I usually have a neutral/undecided standpoint on things. And yes, I am part Swiss.

Curse PremiumTherefore this has to be the best snapsnot in the history of minecraft. At least until snapshot 90w01a comes along.
Not sure if this was replied to, but this bug still exists. So annoying to deal with it.
