Has anyone notice how easy it is to go through portal now. No more standing there an portal makes horrible noise and screen goes wavey.. it's instant as soon as u walk into it. Love it!

or God I hate these changes!!! redo it. (they apparently dont know that with the launcher you can play old versions, or they say: may server updates, so I cant play then, because that change is killing me...)
guys, be grateful for the changes and stop hating. If you go to the recent snapshot section, its full of, hate new features or only this added in 1.7 or mojang getting laze etc.

This Update doesn't really add a lot into Minecraft like 1.6 did,in fact it just adds tons of bug fixes..I think it should be called 1.6.3

Also, have pumpkins been made easier to find? I've been wandering around looking for the new biomes, and I've come across about 7-8 patches of pumpkins so far, and I haven't even gone very far yet.
Not sure if it is new in this snapshot or not... I never saw it in last week's. The biome in the image is a Mesa or Mesa Plateau. It's made up of colored clays.

Yes, they are. In addition, melons are now in the jungle biomes.

The amount of work that it took to clean up the entire executable so that items could be directly named, rather than requiring item ids, was huge. This alone adds a tremendous amount of power for modders to use. Mojang already said that they went through all 255k lines of code and they are not completely done with it. The amount of work taken to redo the terrain generation feature was huge, also. A lot of re-balancing was done so that biomes generate near biomes with compatible temperature and humidity, beside adding a large number of biomes and technical biomes. Whoever is complaining about the update, as was said previously => if you can do better, please do so. Mojang is doing a fantastic job with Minecraft.
