Well this looks like a good map to test out maybe if you add mo creatures and several mods I might be able to make a survival series based on wildlife wait a second can we make up our own story
I think the 1:1500 ratio was chosen to allow making a map that will FIT.
I wonder just how big this map is.
Earth perimeter is approx. 40000 km at equator. At 1:1500 this is still 26 666 blocks wide. However, distance from north pole to south pole is only half of that. And of course, walking parallel to the equator, but near the poles, is MUCH smaller than 40000 km. So I wonder how the "Earth" was made to fit on a flat Minecraft map witout too weird deformations near the poles?
Also, if you continue walking NORTH (or whatever) after reaching the limits of the map, does normal Minecraft terrain generates?
They didn't make it in creative mode. Or in Minecraft. They used a program and USGS data to create the file procedurally.
Did you know I write Science Fiction? Well I do. Check it out at http://planetretcon.com/books/
Nope. I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote it themselves.

You already have it, it's called Real Life ™.

(P.S you should update the map to October 1, 2013, and start the map update on October 2, 2013.)
I think you're expecting a little more out of this map than is possible.
It's just the terrain, and every step you take is 1.5 kilometers. Your house just ain't gonna be there, man.
