I need some help please! I just tried downloading the new launcher; it seemed like it updated successfully and it launched the 1.6 version of the game perfectly after the download. Game still runs great. But when I quit the game and then log back in, I find that it has resorted back to 1.5....and i have to go back to the minecraft website to launch 1.6....I don't have to go through the whole updating process again, but it will not launch 1.6 unless I do it straight from the Minecraft website; I feel stupid asking this, but how do I download the new launcher to my desktop so that I don't have to go to Minecraft.com every darn time?
i think the update, is great and i hated herobrine anyways and you should be thankful for jeb to make this update! they say this is the hardest mob they worked so, this update is THE BAST BY FAR for me i love it!

Okay, i get 1.6.1, and everything is fine! But every time i go to Minecraft.net, instead of "Download now" link I get a "Buy Now" link? Im like whatevs, but than I notice i cant get on serers because it says bad login? Idk whats happening but ill really appreciate if somebody helps me!
Ugh i was really looking forward to this update! I love all the new implements in-game aside from the glitchy sprint and for some reason my frames have gone from on fancy graphics and far render 200 fps to about 20 and when i got fast graphics and short rendr i only get about 40 fps i just got my laptop and was really excited in 1.5.2 for my good frames but now im really laggy and it is very frustrating. People also have been complaining about the launcher ill admit at first i was hesitate to it but this is just the first version and it kind of handy but i still favor the old one. Well thats my thoughts for 1.6 i really do hope my fps improve.
Honestly, I agree with this. Though it is difficult to pick through what is mostly just personal taste and nostalgia. I'm not certain if they've hit the majority of the overall Minecraft demographic (doesn't seem it), but they more or less systematically removed what originally drew me to the game to begin with. Hence why, in my own personal opinion, all updates that began to lead up to 1.0 were mostly clutter and rubbish that didn't fill the game's problems beyond just putting more issues in the way of issues.
Terrain generation was the first thing to become more...boring. It became boring. Minecraft was essentially a mix of crude survival and building, and I feel they took those elements in all the wrong directions.
You can find them if you search new chunks. However, they're very rare to find and then you have to tame them which is a pain. You can spawn them via spawn eggs in creative though!
I dunno, I have a world right now where one plains biom has a TON of horses. One herd of each kind at least. I wish I had more info to share but they aren't rare depending on where you look.
Anyone else FAIRLY dissapointed in this update? Horses are sorta glitchy, huge FPS issues for most users, the new launcher is glitchy and looks terrible.... anyone else think this update was kind of a let down? I mean yea it added horses and you guys are all happy about that but looking at big picture... making it so 25% of your playerbase cant play?
