The 1.6 update is not a rubbish update. In fact, it's an awesome update. It's one of the best updates I ever installed, and I love the new Minecraft launcher. And I also love the new horses in the game.
I've got the new launcher to load, went to work on my railway and now I can't get out of the minecart!! I haven't seen any horse or ANY animal yet. What am I doing wrong?? Is this a glitch with the minecart? I tried to destroy the cart and only accomplished digging a hole that I now cannot fill either to bring the minecart that I'm stuck in back to the level surface. Thanks for any help.
I cant even get on worlds or servers, when I try it just closes minecraft and says java encounted a problem? Has anyone else got this or knows how to fix it?
I think until they change hunger back, remove the difficulty increase when staying in an area, and make adjustments to horses, I will stick with 1.5.2..
I don't understand why a lot of your sods are complaining. This update was worked hard on. Resource packs are amazing. The horses are a much more convenient method of travel. Coal storage blocks keep coal from taking all of my chest space. HORSE ARMOUR for those mounted fights with enemies. A more urgent need of food with the new hunger/healing system makes the game much more interesting. LSHIFT instead of RCLICK to dismount, making it so you don't accidentally come off your horses when firing a bow. Carpets are a much better way of decorating floors. Nether fortresses have loot now, making it more worthwhile to explore them. And the new launcher allows you to allocate more RAM to Minecraft without any external bull, AND IT'S NOT EVEN FINISHED YET.
Am i the only one who likes the new updates? Everyone else seems to say how much Jeb has ruined minecraft.
I actually kinda see why people are hating this update now. Although, i don't see why people would say they ruined minecraft. It's an update that could change in any way shape or form in the future. Chill out a little.
Great Jobs now we need this for the the next update:
Brich Door/Fence
Spruce Door/Fence
Jungle Door/Fence
Stained Clay Stairs/Slabs/Fences
Dyed Wooden Planks/stairs/slabs/fence
Chairs/Tables
More Animails
More Trees
More Minerals
Please Copy this words over and post them on every forum so they can be heard.
and SHIPS!!!!! The ability to build wooden SHIPS!! I know it has been disgusted and suggested many times, but I really really wish they would put in either: larger ships/boats or the ability to build ships that can be sailed. I know there are mods to do this, but I have never had any luck with any mods, and besides, now with the new version of Minecraft, it would be no good anyway. But it would be amazing to be able to have a wooden ship, capable of comfortably crossing large oceans, with chest storage capacity, and as a "mobile home away from home". From what I understand, there are some rendering issues with the animation to do this, which is (as I recall) why Mojang said they could not do it a while ago. BUT... The way I see it, if moders can do it, why not Mojang? Overall, I am very happy with what is available in Minecraft, but we need ships. They would even fit in fine with the time era portrayed on the game. Just my opinion...
im very excited about the horses, but for some reason i cant use the new minecraft launcher i try to login everytime with the right username and password but it says "cannot contact authentication server" but when i try the old launcher its fine
So, it's finally out! My thoughts about it is a mixed bag. It has a few really cool features, but in my opinion, this is the most underwhelming update since the micro updates between 2.0 and 3.0. 1.6 didn't destroy Minecraft, but it could have been much better. 1.7 is going to be focused on biomes, so I predict that it will be much better than 1.7.
What I liked:
-Hardened clay! Finally, a multi-color block similar to stone! And itself looks really nice, even without a dye. The only downfall is that the colors are a little off. (Bone meal dying it tan, cyan dye dying it gray, ect.)
-Leads! FINALLY! It's a really cool concept, and it's really useful. It makes it easier to transport animals to a breeding area. I haven't tried this yet, but my farm could consist of only wooden poles with animals attached via leads.
-Nametags! Now I can have a pet Creeper, and he won't despawn!
-Resource Packs! I have a feeling that the transition from Texture Packs to Resource Packs will be a tedious one, but hey, you can change sound effects and add music. That's cool.
-Coal blocks! I never really liked the way obsidian look, so coal blocks will make a good (yet expensive) replacement.
What I didn't like:
-Horses. They simply don't belong in Minecraft. They're simply too detailed. Also, they're only useful for travelling on roads and such, and that's what Minecarts are for. Pig riding is better for exploration than horses, because pigs aren't as bulky and they aren't too fast. So what purpose do horses serve? Decorating empty stables.
-Downgraded sprinting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is just a bug, but if it isn't...
-The new Hunger system. I haven't noticed anything yet, but I won't rest until I know the hunger system isn't anything unbearable.
-Region difficulty and duplicating zombies. Don't get me wrong; I really like a good challenge. That's what hardcore mode is for. And that's where this feature belongs. I really like these ideas, but I have a feeling it will screw over build servers. When this is addressed, I will gladly put this feature under "What I like".
If there's incorrect facts, forgive me, I haven't done that much research, and I just now tested 1.6.
I use a Mac and now for some reason right clicking doesn't work!! I used to do ctrl+regular click but now I can't do it on my trackpad!! PLEASE HELP!!

It is also said that there is a new mob called the "Headless Horseman" he can be found only in multiplayer and spawn once, he is immortal and he rides a flaming horse with golden armor, and he carries a iron axe, nobody knows what his skin looks like, but he is highly dangerous and said to be a viris.

Also fix the horrible lag, and sprint delay.
I wouldn't say I hate it, but the sprint delay has me not playing MineCraft until the bug is patched.
Strafing and Block-hitting have become a hassle, and my fps is below 10, I'm sitting 1.6.1 out for 1.6.2.
Hello? Anyone?
Buy the game
I'm pretty excited for the update, minus the spiders getting potion buffs and the zombies. I just gotta wait until optifine is updated to play >:L
I said STOP.
