I'm having an issue loading minecraft with the new update. it says incorrect user ID or password which makes no sense because i am using the correct one but the launcher doesn't think so. can any one help
as a pro-beta 1.7.3 terrain advocate and can say that the terrain has clearly taken a step in the right direction, using the seed 8030753765761873255 , i found, right at spawn, a mountain biome that was the most similar to b1.7.3 then all previous versions (prior b1.7.3 obviously) it had, many tunnels and arches(ARCHES ON ARCHES YEA!), many over hangs (not REALLY large ones, but pretty nice) many water falls, (5-6?) 3 lava falls, 2 relatively close to the ground, one way up, (lava stream free falling of side of cliff overhang, onto lake) a couple flouting pieces , some pumpkins and trees, 3 canyons, the bumpy/hilly terrain of the mountain biomes carries slightly over the edge of the biome, causing plains and forest to have to have some interesting hills/bumps/small mountains that transition well with the mountain biome. (sand) beaches might be making a comeback, hills and mountains in jungle, water place meant seems better, not as deep ,maybe? in certain parts (like that shallow pond/lake in the b1.7.3 glacier seed) hills seem better smoothed (when supposed to be, jagged when supposed to be) The jungle was quite large and beautiful, Jungle temple placement may changed, found temple more of in the side of a mountain than sitting on the terrain. In all honestly this is one of the best updates since minecraft 1.0.0, you doing a good job on the terrain Mojang, keep it up!
I didn't expect this today, because I believed it wasn't about to happen very soon after it spent all of last week (which was the planned date for 1.6) not being released.
So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
Not a big fan of the new launcher. Seems...well, messy.
I don't want to see a giant screen of code loading and then the launcher staying up in the background while the game is running.
Once the game loads the launcher says you can exit it.
Well, you shouldn't have to manually exit it, especially considering it never happened with previous versions, and having the code load in front of you is messy and unprofessional. Hopefully they fix it, or at least put in some some options that accomodate both the players that don't mess with the technical stuff and the ones that do.
WooHoo!!! its finally here! ive been waiting for ages and i love this launcher its so cool this gives lots of people a opportunity to use other updates but im still using 1.5 cause i play dubcraft also join the server really and lots of portals! IP: pvp.dubcraft.org Hope u like the Server!!!
Aside from the missing textures that make certain blocks invisible (plowed soil, cobblestone stairs), which is to be expected with all of the changes to texture-related code, this update is nice. The only issue I have found that actually affects gameplay or ruins the fun is that my fps goes from a solid 237 to a ridiculous 9 fps while riding a horse at full speed (that means with the speed buff). Another thing I have noticed, which is very inconvenient, is that horse armor does not appear to have a recipe anymore. If the fps issue and the armor thing is fixed, this will definitely be my favorite update yet.
Okay. I have negative things to say about this. If you want to argue with me feel free.
First of all, I'm on an iMac. I can't right click anymore. So that means that I can't place down blocks.
Second. The launcher is hideous. It is to contemporary. It's ugly as heck. But that's not the biggest deal.
Third. The server that I play on is having difficulties with 1.6. I can't play on that server anymore because of the update.
So I just wanted to say thanks to Mojang for ruining my Minecraft fun. I will be downgrading back to 1.5.2 so that I can play on the server, and be able to place blocks! Thanks a lot.
I'm on a MacBook Pro, and I can right-click, and the launcher feels natural to me - like Mojang should've implemented it from the very beginning.
Not to be rude, or reply to 'old' comments, but that's just my opinions on it. The 'Horse Update' is definitely a step in the right direction - it's just that servers need to be updated, but I don't really use 'em all that much, so it doesn't affect me. Just can't wait until the 'Realms Update' arrives...
yay.... yet another patch that doesn't feature mod support, so glade they spent all this time on horses, now that btw guy is going to make a better than horses mod that wont work with any other mods......
goes back to 1.5.2 since mods just barely started updating to that version....
I tried to kill myself in survival with tnt in survival mode and was only catapulted. I found out this was because i was in peaceful. Is this a bug, something new from the update, or is this something old that i just haven't discovered until now?
Also, I don't like the 'increased mob difficulty' idea at all. I've never really been a fan of fighting hostile entities (that's why I always do /gamerule doMobSpawning false), but making it harder to kill them...No.
I think there should be an option to have the added difficulty or not to have it.
Other than that, the 1.6.1 update is probably the best yet.
Someone please help me! When i press on one of my saved worlds it says loading world but nothin happens! I have waited and waited to see if anything would happen but nothing happens at all! The same with when i try to create a new world! I cant play on online servers either it times out! Anyone have anything to help? Thanks!

...So every update has to have "a new agressive mob and new portal example Aether"??
Pfft. This update had a lot of features people have been waiting forever for. Just because it doesn't have more doesn't mean it's a bad "vision" o_o
Wait....with no .jar, how will installing things like Optifine work?

I'm on a Mac too and it works fine; it doesn't do anything unexpected, anyway.
