Seriously loving the hate-flinging here. Learned about Cubeworld from the MineCraft YouTuber's I watch. Thought it was pretty awesome, wish I could afford to play it. Thought it was pretty cool to see it being advertised here on the MC Forums. Then read the comments, expected to see a lotta love for this new game instead I see a whole buncha people hating, not on the game itself, but the simple fact that it was posted here.

Seriously, just when I thought things couldn't get stranger.

Just because Cubeworld consists of cubes doesn't mean its a Minecraft ripoff. There have been games in the past (none that I can name off the top of my head, mind you) that were cubical in design that came before Minecraft. You don't see them suing Minecraft because of its choice of graphics design, do you? Cubeworld's gameplay is also far from Minecraft. Cubeworld is more RPG than a sandbox, you hardly build anything if at all, much less be able to destroy the landscape. Tons of bosses, tons of dungeons, lots of items. And don't forget classes, I don't recall seeing that on Minecraft.

Additionally, Minecraftforums is hosted by Curse. If Curse wants to promote something else they support, thats their business and there's nothing you or the forum admins can do about it.

I saw a brief youtube series from Cubeworld by the yogscast. Looks impressive, gonna get it if and when the login/store is active again.

Why do you people torture me? I've been trying for the past three days to get at Cube World, but the registration servers are down.

And here I thought when I saw this that all the rage would be caused about this being a Minecraft clone (not that it is)....

You're kidding me... it happened one time. That's it, one time. It's not like they said, "We will be reporting on every game that has voxels now!".

why does everyone hate so much? It's a great game! "Dis is a minecraft forum!" So what? Cube World deserves attention! That arguement would be relevant if this was the 5th post about Cube World. It's not.

Hrr. I hate that Curse is trying to make sites for a popular new game to make the indie developer depend on them...very distasteful behavior.

Right now the game is 15euro or 21$ but its hard to get to the link to buy the game; Theres already cracked alpha clients; I played it lol....You need a very good computer; better than one to run MC at 100FPS

Yall know that this is probably just a courtesy to Cube World because they mentioned mine craft as inspiration of the game.It looks like Mojang is just returning the favor to cube world as a courtesy.

I find their is two very different opinions about this post, while it may be fair for people who support this to say why complain its a great game and lots of fun. It is mostly the principals of that matter that put a distaste to your mouth, while it may be inspired by mojang that doesn't make it owned by them. Which kinda puts it at odds with this area being for Minecraft news, so its unfair to reply with smart comments like "Your just mad becuse your topic got locked" when people say that if they posted a topic in area it shouldn't be in it would be locked or removed. While staff do have higher powers on their own forums than most normal players, it does seem to send a bad example to post a off topic post.Theirs also the matter with this game potentiality (not saying it is) being a rival game to mojang's minecraft that could bother people also.I must say though is this wasn't post possibly in the news area about minecraft most people would not have been all mad, I mean its just that the news area usally contains important new about minecraft and its kinda a letdown to see a game promotion in that section.

While on the other hand this website is hosted by curse so they mostly have full right to promote a game they have involvement with on their own forums, but while some may call it "shameless promotion" others may indeed be happy that curse did promote this game because they had never heard of it.Its all basically up to the personal opinion of each and every person that looks at this forum.
Lastly even if they did post this theirs no need to become so angered towards the game itself and say your not going to buy it. I'm sure the game developer worked day and night on this game to make it a fun and enjoyable game, while I can not blame you for posting hate comments about the topic being in this section of the forums their is no need to hate on the game itself.

Seems obvious to me that curse got a fat cheque to post this, and if this feed becomes a place for cube ­, I will not be continuing to follow. <rant done>

It's a pity that Cube World is *Impossible* to buy at the moment due to DDoS attacks.
SO much for me having fun.

I myself will remain with Minecraft, because of what opportunities and possibilities it gave to others. Things can't last forever, and who says this is replacing Minecraft (you can't build the environment in Cube World, and Minecraft sales aren't stopping, and the updates aren't either). Does anyone however have information on where to obtain an alpha version (buying it)? According to the main site, there is no download/buy page/link.
