LOL! Cube world IS like minecraft. So... Maybe this is all right? After all, people don't go crazy when scrolls gets a mention!
Explain to me how Cube World IS like Minecraft? as far as I know in Cube World you can
Choose a race/class and each one has a different purpose
Have a multitude of pets and mounts, all of which need different foods to tame, they come back when they die and have their own leveling system
You can't break blocks and build a house
The town has actual npc's and an actual purpose
It is an RPG, you level up and fight in actual dungeons
Stronger ememies will kill you until you are stronger
Crafting is incredibly different, you have the materials walk up to the appropriat crafting station in town and then you click the little sword next to the item you want to make, voila you get an item
I watched my brother and his friend play for four hours and this is pretty much all I got from the game. I'm sure it has other features I don't know about. So other than being cube like Cube World and Minecraft are two completely different games, one is a sandbox the other is an RPG... I'm open to your counter argument about how it IS like Minecraft.
Looking at the official site, they are not looking for more testers for the closed alpha, and open alpha seems to not yet be available, even for purchase? Either they're site is not up to date, or you guys here are jumping the gun.
I don't mind advertising, as long as it is of a product that I can actually acquire.
Why does it make a difference if they posted something in the Minecraft forum that isn't 100% related to Minecraft? Looks a lot like Minecraft. Crafting, mining, like Minecraft. That's like saying everything in school that you discuss (with friends, teachers, anybody) should be 100% school related. Â no.
Obviously it's not a big deal if it's not Minecraft related. If everything on this forum had to be Minecraft related, we wouldn't have an "Off Topic" section in the forums. 'tardsAnd btw, it looks like a great game. Would buy. Kudos to the devs, I hope everything goes well.
Just saying, this is not the place whatsoever for this post at all, nor is it any right to go out and make a Wiki on the Curse Website when curse has no affiliation whatsoever with CubeWorld, the only place which currently has affiliation with it is the CubeWorldForum.
The reason why I am making a big deal about this is because, I come here to view Minecraft and Mojang news, not Picroma news!
Also, before anyone quotes my post whatsoever saying something about how there was no hype about Colbat being put on the forums.
Well, it's a completely different aspect as for it was colbat, something owned by the same company as Minecraft. | Mojang
CubeWorld is not owned by Mojang and never will be. It is its own Company and perspective, a competitor with Minecraft.

CubeWorld is not apart of mojang in anyway whatsoever. Nor is Wollay working for Mojang or minecraft whatsoever, before posting, get your facts straight, he declined the job back in 2012 because he wanted to stay independent because he knew what he had was a work of art that can and probably will be as big or bigger than Minecraft

This isn't the first game they advertised in these forums, so I don't know what's all this fuss is about. Frankly, this is the only game they advertised here that is worth playing.

Plus, you're forgetting that
(1.) Minecraft players are recommended to play Cubeworld.
(2.) Cubeworld Wiki is hosted by Curse (the same group that owns these forums) so they should have the right to announce their other works...
I see this post/news is getting tons of hate, and personally I think it is a little weird that the Minecraft Forums posted something not about one of Mojangs games, but I think this is a rather epic game and could bridge the gap between us Block Lovers and RPG lovers and so this page should not get all the hate it is getting, just enjoy what it is, and that is an epic blocky rpg fighter

The game was inspired by Minecraft (among other games), and people who play Minecraft may like the game. Being mad about this post is severely unwarranted.
MINECRAFT forums. We'll tolerate news about Mojang games--0x10^c, Scrolls, Cobalt, etc, those are all fine. But this is not even Mojang-related, let alone Minecraft related. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, of course, but even if it actually is Mojang/Minecraft related, then EXPLAIN IT IN THE POST so you don't have ten pages of minecrafters yelling at you for supporting a completely different game.
So in summary, explain the connection. I'm totally lost as to how this is relevant to anything Minecraft. If you'll tell me why I should care, as a Minecrafter, I'm totally with you, 102%. Just... enlighten me, plzes.
