Well, if 1.6 is out soon, then this is a pretty boring update. However, I know that they have been working hard on the resource packs, so I will wait for 1.7 for more content.
Pretty boring? this update adds horses, hay bails and a bunch of other stuff. What are you talking about?
Got a game running in SP with all settings at minimum. The following is happening:
The Bad:
#1 villagers are falling into the blocks.
#2 the stars are still twitching
#3 blocks take about 1 second between the time you break them and when the resource shows up.
#4 The "new" day/night cycle command still doesn't work.
Before you flame me for not posting this on the bug website... take note that EVERY time I post something, they flag it as a copy (but there is none) and totally ignore it. They tell me it's a copy of some report, but every time I click the report, it sends me to a 403 page or something that loops me around to my original post.
The good:
#1 Horses are pretty...
#2 Waves of zombies at night are fun... Watch, they'll fix that "bug" before they fix anything that's seriously detrimental to game play. (see "The bad")
#3 There is nothing else "good" about the past few snapshots.... they will never get it together, since they already have our money. Who cares about the paid customers.
These content updates are a charity to us, if anything. The team keeps working on the game and gets salary from Mojang which depends on new customers to keep things rolling. Minecraft is the exception in the current gaming climate, not the rule, and we should enjoy every minute of it while it lasts in my opinion.
Omg, 25c! SOOOOOOOOOO excited for the horsies in 1.6!!! Gonna be awesome on SMP's!

Bug fixes are awesome. Can't wait till the release, but I guess I'll have to prepare myself for the complaint threads that will follow...oh well, a good update nonetheless.
Yay, finally the release is coming! But I thought that they were going to add new mobs with an "s". Maybe some pandas like it says on Minecraft Wiki. Or some real fish.
Have they fixed the bug where you cant destroy sand in creative mode using swords?
No. They fixed the bug where you CAN destroy sand (and every other block) with swords.
Swords are for killing mobs. Use any other slot in your inventory when destroying blocks and quit trying to get them to remove very welcome features from the game.
