I am getting the same. Thought it might just be MultiMC issues so tried using the official launcher as well. I'm guessing they are probably going to get hammered for a bit, so patience is probably key here.

I've had issues with downloading, but it seems to work fine if you let it fail and then decline to update again.

It'll probably crash immediately or something- trying it out now.

Update is live in Upstate New York!

But, when you update, it downloads the Minecraft jar 3 times, and then fails.

This is solved by exiting Minecraft and relaunching, and hitting Not Now. Surprisingly, Minecraft then is running 1.5.

Mojangster in-Joke... typically it really means "We fixed a very elusive but hard to describe in lay terms bug"

Nothing wrong with ignorance so long as you are willing to fix it by learning!

As this is a full update you should get an option to update when running your launcher. Mind you this is the PC version that has been updated.


My favorite part of this? No more need to run patches for HD textures!

It's just 1.5.0, not actually released as 1.5.1? (I know there'll be a 1.5.1 anyway though.) Cool! Hasn't happened since 1.1.
