For all of you who wish to understand a bit about the horses:
-Currently no sound, but they look adorable.
-I counted seven types of horse.
-They eat apples and wheat, that's how you tame them.
-They need a saddle to move, but you can sit on them after they're tamed.
-Grown horses take five hits from an iron sword. Baby ones take three.
-They can be armored with iron, gold and diamond. I have yet to figure out the recipes.
-Horses have a grass-eating animations, like sheep.
-When mounted, the health bar remains the same. However, the food bar is replaced with another one I don't understand.
-The experience bar is replaced with a charge bar. Release it at it's peak to make your horse jump two blocks.
-Horses can hop one-block-high obstacles without jumping.
-You can attack while on the horse.
-You cannot attack the horse when you are on it.
-They are extremely fast and a bit glitchy at times.
I hope this helped you all out.

-When killed, horses drop leather.
-They have a jumping animation.
-You can also shoot from a bow when mounted.
-Horses are buggy when in water.

-There is a blind spot you can't hit when you're on the horse, near the bottom of the neck, annoying when fighting against spiders.

Another way to tame a horse is with sugar, a whole stack when I tried.
Is it just me that's having a huge amount of trouble finding a horse? I made a new 13w16a survival world and I've been searching for over and hour.
Also, boats seem crazy glitchy. I can barely move in them, and when I get out they're really far away. When I relog they move back to where I got out.
I also have the boat glitch that you are experiencing.

Also I've heard from friends and the internet that this update will be bigger than the "Adventure Update" with that being said, my predictions of a full release is around November.

I saw a horse go and eat the hay, so maybe horses will have a hunger bar and hay bales, wheat and, suger will make it so they dont starve. Pet villagers! Support of the pet villagers!

i hope they change the horse movement so that instead of strafing the horse turns left and right with a and d that way you can look around with out changing the direction the horse is moving
Tell me how well laser guns and orcs would fit in this game. And besides, mooching off of two mods isn't what you call creativity. It's ripping off user content.
Do you also hate the movie The Avengers because it ripped off characters from Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, and Thor? Or do you hate those movies for ripping off characters from a comic book?
They didn't "rip off" anything. They HIRED the guy who did it to do it for them. For money. Oh how horrible they are!
I don't understand this "doesn't fit" thing. I want all animals to move and act like this. Each thing they make is better than the last and the only problem is they don't go back and kick everything else up a notch to match.

Because zombies, skeletons, pigs, cows, sheep, chickens, spiders, beds, caves, minerals, weather, and much much more haven't appeared in so many other places. You don't add content for the sake of it being unique. You add content for the sake of fleshing out the experience of the game.
Sure, riding pigs is unique to Minecraft and riding horses is not. But even after everyone can ride horses to more benefit, Minecraft will still, and always will be, that one game where you can slap a saddle on a pig and ride it.

Ok I found it, Not sure if it's in the same place for everyone but the new launcher added folders to the .minecraft folder... so I found the Jar in .minecraft/versions/13w16a and it's titled as such.
I am...halfhearted about this. Carpets are nice Respiration enchantment is pretty cool. Horses? They are okay. I do like Mo'Creatures, but adding horses? I guess it is a nice thing
Are Hay Bales a block too? It would be a nice decor.
For some reason I'm not a fan of this. Just the horses. To put it this way, I feel there's a line between something you'd see in a mod, and something you'd see in vanilla that they just crosses with this. They just don't fit in my opinion. They feel too moddy which is exactly what they are.

Horses reverse very slowly
Spiders will jump and attack the player
zombies will attack the horse
The blue bar seems to be your jump meter - By holding it until its full youll jump higher
TO TAME - Feed the horse wheat and then attempt to ride it until it accepts being tamed
AFTER TAMING - All forms of apples will do the mating emote: I assume this will be added later
Armor rating for the horse doesn't show
