If you can afford a computer, internet, and all the spare time Minecraft requires, you can afford Minecraft.
No actually. Just because you have internet (ever hear of borrowing the neighbors or free wifi spots), and a computer (in my case it was a gift -4- yrs ago so really I CAN't afford to buy a computer), then just maybe you can't afford games. But, rest your shorts because I did pay for mine and now have been eating practically nothing for a few weeks until pay day. I am an adult and can make that decision for myself. I am sure parents weigh these decisions out and wouldn't let the child starve for a game (and if they did, they are not good parents).
Edit- This is not to say there ARE some people who have the money but take the free way anyway but I really hate when people assume if you have one thing, you can afford another.
Nineteen pages into this thread, and NOBODY thought to ask: "Hey, if we have 'Carpets', which are basically 1/8th sized Wool blocks... are we ever going to see Wool Slabs? Or other blocks get the 1/8th treatment?".
I'd ~kill~ to be able to have 1/8th blocks of different types, to decorate floors... especially with the idea that, while Carpets won't exactly "hide" all Redstone devices, you can ~still~ fire projectiles upward ~through~ Carpet tiles, out of a Dispenser.
Thing about the possibilities... especially when combined with the new "Trap Chest". Some scrub comes into your home looking to steal some goodies... finds a couple of "okay" items in a chest or two, and then finally wanders over to the trap... and gets filled with a bunch of Arrows... or drowned in Lava (since we've seen Carpets are immune to fire spread where normal fire sources are concerned).
Not only that... but it would add more detail to building.
...then again, I've been wanting half-blocks (slabs), Stairs (even Wool should be available as stairs!), and 1/8th blocks for ALL blocks, for a long time now.
Edit: Correction, the carpets are 1/16th blocks, not 1/8th. I don't know how I made that mistake.
This is a great snapshot. I noticed though when trying it out that it has some bugs. If you ride the horse into water then it bucks you off. Then once it gets out of the water you cannot get back on the horse yet. I also have bugs with getting armor on the horse.
I'm playing it now and I like it but how on earth do you tame a horse?
Check videos on youtube but i believe you continuesly feed them apples and get on their backs as to break in a horse in real life.
Also, i have a question, i have Windows and it tells me i am at risk... the forum page says im not at risk and its safe, i want to try it out... who should i trust?

You probably have to force update your minecraft and then it will work:)
I downloaded it, it gave me the warning. I am running perfectly fine, I ran a whole computer scan too just to be safe. It's because the file was new and unknown and many people were downloading it at once.
Adding stairs and slabs (and double slabs) for all 16 wool colours would require 20 new blocks with individual IDs. Not an impossible task, but especially mod makers already complain about the slim amount of available block IDs.
Not really. It would just require 3 block ID's at most, one for the wool stairs and one for slabs/double slabs, using damage values. (okay, I'm not sure about the stairs, none of the vanilla stairs share a block id. the slabs do share one block id as do the wool blocks)
Note: that's how the carpets work. they share one id split with damage values.
Carpet is a great idea but shouldn't we get at least 2 carpet from 2 wool? Right now it's 2 wool to get just one carpet which I'm not a fan of (even though I love the idea of the carpet itself).
We can ride pigs and even steer them with the recent added "carrot on a stick" so.... why did Mojang feel the need to add another neutral mob you can ride around on exactly? Seems a bit like "more of the same" to me.

Thank you for making my point. You could not afford the game and food, and you still found a way to pay for it.
Addendum: If you can't afford $25 for a video game, you have a lot bigger problems than being able to afford a video game!
You can play with your old worlds on the new snapshot.

Any help?
