Horses seem to be slightly better than pigs in terms of speed and health, but you have to go through a lot just to tame one and then use costly materials to make the saddle and armor. Pigs just need a saddle, carrot on a stick, and away you go! And I did use the Splash Potion of Swiftness on them too.

Unimportant update notes:
Hay bales do not burn (unexpected).
Hay bales conduct redstone in the manner of similar opaque blocks (expected).
Carpets do not burn (unexpected).
Carpets act as insulators, and do not transfer redstone current (expected).
Both may be pushed/retracted by pistons. However, the carpet breaks if pushed/pulled over an empty space.
Tethered horses seem to not stray more than two to four blocks from their post, however they will occassionally hop up a block and then on top of the fence if possible. Currently, riding a horse tethered to a post breaks the rope as a drop after about 6-10 blocks. Attempting to push a horse far from its post is troubling, as the horse makes all earthly attempts to walk around the player and move back to about 4 blocks from the post, where it proceeds to hop madly.
I really wish that carpets would allow objects that do not fill then entire cubic meter in the same space (e.g., fence posts, signs)...
Cool! This will get very interesting when it's done, it will change the entire Vanilla experience. Horses? Awesome, we can integrate them into Age Craft!
You have to take into consideration that not everybody can buy it. That's not to say that I'm pro-piracy, though.
That's true. I know that my 10 years old cousin uses a pirated copy. It's obviously because all his friends at school do it, but knowing his parents, they're the kind who don't know much about computers and would likely refuse to put their credit card info on a website like Mojang's website. When I went to repair their computer a few months ago, his mom asked me if the problem could be a virus that came with a game he was playing... "mine... something?". She had absolutely no idea what this thing was about.
(I scanned the archive of the cracked copy he had downloaded and it was clean.)
Well the difference is that the piracy is merely copying, so it is infinite, whereas the stealing is taking it away, because it is finite.
I'm not here to start a piracy debate, though...
But you kinda did.
I agree that all (well, most) of the people who pirate the game would not buy it anyway so they are not lost sales. However, nobody (least of all Mojang) has ANY responsibility to help them get their free game.
If you can afford a computer, internet, and all the spare time Minecraft requires, you can afford Minecraft. Also, if you truly love the game as much as most of the people on this forum do, you have the moral obligation to pay for hit. Heck, you have your own SELF INTEREST to benefit; if enough people don't buy the game, they'll abandon development.
Maybe they ran out of budget... maybe their parents won't let them buy things online... I don't know, but people have gone through all this already...
Ugh... I already said I don't want to get into a debate...
Just saying, using the lack of money to justify breaking the law does not end well...
And I think people could get around the lack of money, and if their parents will not let them, they could get around that too, the reason they pirate games is because it is the easy way out. There is always another option.
New screenshot looks awesome I've been hoping for the day I would see vanilla MC horses. It's great that the creator of Moe's Creatures is making the models for them too! I love that mod.
Of all animals to add, it had to be horses? Carpet? Why not wool blocks on the ground, that's what I do, what's wrong with blocks of wool as carpet?
How about this. Painted planks. Do you have idea how long I've wanted painted planks? To finally get some COLOR in this drab brown and grey game? Or verticle planks, some houses just look nicer with vericle planks.
Oh, and a table and chair. I hate making tables from fence posts and pressure pads, it's ugly as sin, and stairs for chairs is horrendeous! We need some actual furnishings!

i agree but i can anser some things horses are a great addition and wanted by many be lucky mojang arent charging money for ''horses and horse armor DLC'' also carpets dont burn woolblocks do so you can make fireplaces and have carpets nearby to
their legs, saddle, and armor have too many boxes, they have a higher level of detail than everything else. It just doesn't fit in
Oh god, people are going to be changing to hard mode to enchant, then switching back, allowing them to get totally OP enchantments.

I've given one a load of wheat and apples (well over 5 stacks) and all it does is kick at me.
Yup, I'm an Age Craft dev, check out the mod!
