There are skins for the two undead horses included in the snapshot but unused and they follow the same pattern as the released horses. It is not unreasonable to hope that not only the undead horses will be included from this information but that they may have horse related drops.
Or that since they imported a lot of the framework directly from Mo's Creatutre author, there was saome amount of coding magic cut n paste involved. Why take the time to remove an entire part with the risk of making the entire compiling of the coded module fall to it's knees, when you could just leave it like that and use a simple switch to avoid generating that part? This is just like in our real life bodies we have old genetic code in our DNA which has no usage anymore whatsoever, it's just there. *maybe* it will serve again one day. But it probably won't.
I think the undead horses "skins only" are exactly like that. They thought about adding the, chose otherwise, but did the logical thing: not waste programming time on fully removing it, after all ,who knows if it could serve one day, right? So they simply turned it off. Having worked as a coder, this is a very common coding practice.

First, the textures are there. It's reason enough to -hope- for a hostile mob, people love them damn hostile mobs.
Second, In mo's creatures There are 96 horse skins -before- the undead horse -starts- and goes for another 86 undead horses... then another 13 zebra horses. I think that's reason enough to assume that if they had intended on removing the tworemaining undead horses from the beginning they would have...
Edit Note: there are 7 base skins in the released horses and 5 overlays, for the horses proper ignoreing mules, donkeys and the two currently unused undead skins so the code is different, it has to be because there are no overlays in Mo's
Third, If they did start and then change their minds that means that even if they don't put them in now... there is always a chance it will happen later... I'm still allowed to be hopeful that something I think would be awesome can be added to the game I love when they do add things that people beg for... I mean... that's what the horses were in the first place... something people asked for... and now here they are...
So I guess what I'm saying is don't spit in my cheerios. Just because the texture is there doesn't mean they are going to do it... but it means it's a hell of a lot more likely than if it wasn't there at all like the unicorns.

Codes exist for them and they can be spawned with third party programs, but they don't spawn naturally yet.
Also, removing textures =/= extra coding. There are textures in the jar. Odds are, they are simply incomplete and will be added at some point soon, so in the meantime they disabled natural spawning. In fact, undead horses can already carry chests, in some fashion, according to Minecraft Wiki.

Why remove the recipe for creating saddles? I've been playing Minecraft since Alpha and have only found a handful of dungeons myself so why include Horses at all if the means to control one is ridiculously annoying? And what about if your Horse dies? Find another saddle? Screw that, I'm not downloading this new snapshot.

if you could create saddles it'll be really easy to get horses early game which would be extremely OP
I knew that coal block will come > i just hope that will work as nether rack but will give more light
Sadly the fire on it will go out like on a stone or dirt block.
I was hoping for something similar or at least expecting that it can burn/get hit by firespread like wood does (even hayblocks don't catch on fire/stay on fire)
At least coal blocks allow for more smelting material in a furnace (4608 smelts in 1 stack coalblocks) thats especially nice if you need a high amount of stone or glass for building (but can be very wasteful if you miscalculated the amount of blocks you can smelt)
And of course it doesn't work with charcoal.
Else you could use the coalblock as a substitute for the basalt block added by redpower2 (w/o the chizeled, paver and brick variant)
With quartz it makes a nice B/W floor tiling.
Or just as a way for storing your coal XD
Has anyone else realized that Minecraft 1.6 is turning into Minecraft 2.0. I mean now they have; horses(with different breeds), Blocks of coal, The feature where Zombies can call for more Zombies(In 2.0 it was chickens), a mob based use for Golden Apples(Taming horses-Flying sheep), Hay Bales, Dried Clay(Mud), ect.
Maybe Minecraft 2.0 was just Mojang testing to the public about what people thought sounded good. Just my opinion.
Guys, Snapshot 13w18c is OUT! Look on the Dev. Launcher. It's There!

Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door is by far the world's best Nintendo game ever made.

WHY DOES MY 1.5.2 DON't HAVE ALL THIS AND THE MODS doesn't work??????
This is just a snapshot for 1.6(which is not yet finished), and all of the features may be implemented on the game sooner unless a later snapshot removes one of those features.
For the mods, go to the mods section of this forum and check the latest list for all the mods for 1.5.2, although you may not find much there because of the immediate release of 1.5.2(The Mod Makers aren't magicians that just update their mods in just a single click[unless the mod only has small coding; unless the mod is a mini-mod])
I hope that information helped you

I was once an ordinary Steve thinking about rainbows when I was struck by lightning to death, but still, my big thought about rainbows, brought me back to life. Now, living as Death, using the power of rainbows in accordance with life and death

Spamming about it everywhere won't change the fact that it is really hard to code and maybe, if you are lucky, will be added in the future.
The current snapshot? Nope.
The joke is more along the lines of "This is not a bug, its a feature."
