I'm hopeing that the stone brick and mossy stone brick will be new craftable blocks and not just a texture replacement.

I like how they look the ruins o.o

I dont think the stonebricks are retextures because mossy cobble and cobble is the same in the first pic and also its not a retexture of stone because stone is obviously seen of the cliffs in the background, 3 new blocks and in my opinion its not cobwebs but hopefully we will get a new door & webs generated into the game

I like that new ruins block!!! It will come on handy when I get the full game and want to make cool looking ruins and stuff like that.

To people thinking that cobble will be reskined again, it already was in 1.7. I'm okay with the NPC villages. Actually, I really like them. It has sort of a medivial type feel to it. The brown mushroom desperately needs a second or third layer on it though. It looks tacky as of right now. The gate in the ruins will be a cool addition, and everything seems to flow with the landscape. Add that to the ravines, new lighting system, maybe even laterns, and you have yourself a heck of an update. Only thing left would to be to incorporate Mo's Creature Mod.

I think the villages are only in adventure mode

Some of the blocks in the ruins are onl 1/8 of the size of a normal block. That means probably a new rafting recipe or block resource

Nothing makes me laugh so much as the "Ruined" People.

Change anything, down to the most infinitesimal degree and you will summon a horde of the "Ruined" People.

I still can't believe there were people complaining about weather. There are actually people upset at the "nerfed" fire spreading system that keeps your forests from turning into a blighted hell-scape.

Having trusted the creative vision of this game to this degree, I see no reason not to trust this next update to be entertaining. And, if it isn't? I'll find a server mod to turn off whatever features I don't care for. I mean, I have a plug-in I use when my wife plays, that keeps Creepers from destroying the terrain. Discourages her, and she's not a particularly avid gamer. I personally like the explosive variety, but that plugin doesn't ruin the game anymore than this next update will.

If you can fly into a rage with only two screenshots than you MIGHT just be taking things too seriously. Just saying.
