I believe Notch meant that farlander was already used a lot for other things, not to describe the Endermen. I guess i could be wrong. Here are the two tweets, "/v/ is petitioning me to change the name from "Enderman" to "Farlanders". How about we just rename the "far lands" to "the end" instead? ;D" and "Besides, "farlander" is a more common existing term than "enderman" according to a quick googling."

"Endermen" sounds more mysterious and adds to the creepiness. "Farlanders" makes it seem like these guys can only be found in the Far Lands.

I think Endermen sounds better, also any one else notice that this might be in a NPC Village? Also if arrows stick to mobs that would be so cool!

My vote goes with Farlanders.

hopefully 1.8 will be decent, 1.7 didn't have much to offer and these new mobs look like they could make minecraft quite interesting...

Enderman!!

Call them farlanders but make a boss one named Enderman or The Enderman. If bosses are ever implemented that is.

if you look in the left corner the enderman/farlander is holding a dirt block.
