Enderman could be used for so many jokes, but Farlander just sounds more natural. Perhaps one of the dungeon bosses could be called Enderman? Or maybe they could flat out call it Slenderman.
The slenderman meme is amazing and I respect Notch for giving a nod to them, but in the context of the game I feel there is a lot more potential story/lore wise for Farlanders.
Imagine they are actually from the far lands. Why have they come so far from home? What drives them to be where the player is and possibly build there? This to me is far more interesting and several orders of magnitude more creepy than slendermen somehow slipping into MC from the marble hornet's 'verse.
Keep up the good work Notch. Can't wait!
Edit: As a note I have just re-read the wiki article and Notch's tweet about renaming the 'Far Lands' to 'The End'. I am now exactly 4.5 times more terrified of them.
Anyone know if they can move player placed blocks?
It would be rather annoying If and enderman/farlander stole your diamond block.
Also I hope he adds a use for them, like a useful block or item.
We dont want the wolf incidents again, do we?
Actually despite the name being closely related to slendermen, They behave much more like weeping angels
agreed.
It has a good ring to it. And with the word "end" it feels like it really be YOUR end

I want the name to be original.
