Common people! ENDERMEN! They pick up blocks and punch the crap out of you! They will pick up block after block from your freaking house! COMMON! MINECRAFT IS THE BEST FREAKING GAME EVER MADE!!!
The only thing I really got out of that commment was the last sentence...
They aren't from the farlands though, so the name makes no sense. If they were the result of some weird bug that happened to zombies in the farlands, and Notch saw that and went "it would be cool if zombies were always thin and black...*GASP!* an idea for a new mob!" That would be one thing, but these aren't creatures from the farlands - a place so distant and strange that only a rare few minecrafters have traveled there and lived to tell the tale. They are a new mob, a scary, creepy mob that attacks only when you aren't looking, coming from the shadows like pale eyed death. They end you.
I feel like Farlander could potentially suit this mob better than Enderman. If they can pick up/place blocks, I'd imagine that an areas swarming with these mobs could end up having oddly warped landscape from all the block movement. The Farlands are notable because of their landscape abnormalities, so the name Farlander would make sense if the mob actually acted this way.
Frankly, I don't care about Slender man, and considering it has nothing to do with Minecraft, I'd prefer that the mob not be named after something just because it sort of looks like it.
I notice that people arguing for "farlander" are presenting logical and concise reasons for their choice, while people arguing for "endermen" are just saying they think "endrman is betr cuz it is."
Why can't we just drop it and let notch decide? It is his game
I somewhat agree. It's not really he peoples choice. Notch could come out with 1.8 right now and call them the shadowsofdeathandkilldeathdies for all we care.
well i think they both have their ups and downs. Farlander seems like a more original name but it 'flow' as well as enderman (although nether does enderman isn't as bad) although i really think there should be a name with only on syllable to pronounce... But that is just my opinion. It is not up to me to decide.

That's right. Endermen just flows off the tongue better than Farlanders. I don't generally like names that end with "er"
Maybe it's just the RPG god that lives inside of me, but doesn't Farlander sound 10x better than Endermen?
