NO ONE CLICK N THE "click here to vote" LINK!
it sent me to so Fartex bank website or something which then tried to open a java and an adobe program. I denyd it and closed the tab, but by the time I did my laptop started shutting down! seriousely scared the SHIIST outta me. but thankfull I just logged back in and things so far SEEM to be ok.
EDIT: 3 seconds after makeing this post I got a windows defenderalert about an unwanted and harmful progem. some kind of trojan virus. I just attempted to remove it.
Just clicked on the link, everything's just fine. Either you clicked on a pop-up, or your faking and trying to get people to not vote for him, which is just sad.
Please. It's not like his budget even feels that. Heck, I'd give to the poor too if i earned that much cash.
It doesn't matter how much someone has given in comparison to what they HAVE to be influential. If someone had, say, $900,000,000,000,000,000 and they chose to use a very relatively small amount of it to, oh, i don't know, end world hunger... I bet THEY would seem very influential, despite how much they had left over.
Now i'm not going to say he's the most influential person in the world, but I really think he has affected the entire world, more than the president of Egypt has.

Ha. Ha. Ha. I have no idea how much higher education you have completed, good sir. But Mohamed Morsi is the recent democratically elected head of the most important country that went through the 2011 Arab Spring.... Every move he makes is viewed and analyzed by international policy experts everywhere, because Egypt's new regime has the capability to set an example for democratic leadership in Africa, or to just prove again that democracy can't prevail in the majority of Africa.
By the way,
Notch made a game for 10 million people. I have no hard data, but I bet that most of those people aren't playing that game so seriously so as to change their life in a meaningful way. On the other hand, Mohamed Morsi is the leader of a country of 85 MILLION people. 85 million people don't play Morsi's flash game, 85 million people are subject to his leadership and policy. You want influence? That's 8.5 times the amount of influence Notch has. And that's when you forget the fact that he rules over them, unlike Notch and (most) minecraft gamers.
Please go educate yourself before making such ridiculous assumptions.
NO. No no no no. The game itself is the influential factor here. Notch (or arguably anyone else, sorry there Jeb) was not a driving force for this game. It was the community that made it awesome. The concept of Minecraft is very powerful, and we will be feeling it's influence for a while.
I mean come on, this has to be a hoax. The guy abandoned the thing for chrissakes.
edit-
and you know what, if they're gonna put anybody on that list it should be Tarn Adams.

Breaking news dude, every major politician is watched by the whole world. Sorry you didn't get the memo.

Jesus christ, you people go crazy over a matter of opinion. I know some people who were at the bottom of the pit, all hopes lost, but they came out of the pit by introducing minecraft to other people. I won't deny that Mohamed Morsi has done good things, but remember, all of the people on that list had to do great things to get on that list. Also, opinion.

So by your logic, the leader of China should be the most influential, leading 1.4 billion. If you're considering the worldwide influence of a politician, you can't just consider their influence in the country or continent, but rather the whole world. For example, Kim Jong Un leads North Korea, gathers world-wide attention, is constantly being watched by the whole world, and is threatening a war which could become nuclear. He has world leaders on edge waiting for him to do something. Now that is quite an influence.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Now while Kim Jong Un may be the most influential right now, i'll go with Notch. But really, Notch has affected my life more anyways.

Not everyone on the list necessarily had to do great things, just substantial things. Unless that is what you mean by great .

Did you forget that Egypt does not span the entire world? 85 million people, great. Now if only they all weren't in only one part of the world, you might be on to something. This is about influencing the whole world, but you say someone who influences a single part of it is more worthy for #1most influential person of the world. And you are telling ME to educate myself...
Just checked the results again, by refreshing my page, i see a good change in votes.
Before refreshing:
Mohamed : 170,624
Notch : 137,446
After refreshing:
Mohamed : 170,697 +73
Notch : 138,387 +941
I'm not sure if the rate is high enough given the time left, but if the polling was given more time, i think we know who would win! If "No Way"s count against "Absolutely"s in the end though, then Notch wins!
Mohammed has more 'NO's than 'YES's
As of this post he has the second highest "Yes" vote and a very low "No" vote (Mohamed Morsi has the highest "Yes" AND "No")
Which puts him in the lead (I think) and he deserves it 1,000%!!!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Make sure you reply to me if you want me to see your post!!
"Official voting ends on Friday, April 12th. The final TIME 100 list is selected by our editors and will be revealed on Thursday, April 18th."
Let's hope they don't just ignore most of the votes and chose whoever they feel like for top. Other than that, if negative votes count against positive, then Notch has won. Keep on voting though, idk if that's how they'll do it, and it would be cool to have he most votes of all anyway!
Guys. Are you actually insane? Notch might have made a fun and entertaining video game, but its hardly been a major influential life changing event for the 10 million people who play it. To most, its an amusing distraction to our lives.
the "influence" comes from mindshare. It could almost be argued that Java owes it's continued existence on desktop machines to Minecraft. Additionally, The "Single person making a game and becoming a millionaire almost by mistake" story spurred on a lot of clones as well as Similar pushes to enter that market. The influence extends over the entire software industry, and in this day and age, the software industry is massively influential.
On that Time poll is people like Pope Francis, who is the first EVER pope from the Americas. That is far more influential to the 1.2 BILLION Catholics in the world.
That's indoctrinated influence, I don't think that counts. He's influential to Catholics essentially because he wears a dress and a silly hat, and their doctrine says "the guy wearing the dress and the big silly hat has influence for some reason" so he does.
Yet Notch has a 90% approval for a spot on the poll, and the second most amount of votes, while Pope Francis won't even make the list at this rate.
That's probably for the best. What has he DONE to become influential? I think this is part of the premise on which it is based. So far he's indulged his foot fetish and reduced the extravagance of his apparel from using Gold to Silver. Aside from the aforementioned influence through doctrine, I don't think he qualifies any more than Kim Jong Il.
He's not alone... people like Obama, Nieto, or Angela Merkel, Xinping, who lead actual countries in this world, are FAR behind the votes for Notch. Its actually just ridiculous.
Notch's Influence extends far beyond the borders of any one country. Additionally, part of the Job description of a country leader is that they have influence, by definition. I think the purpose is to look for people who came to have influence by accident; that is, they're influence extends far outside their domain.
Besides, some of those have made the Time Person of the Year; Obama has been Time Person of the year twice.
I'm not knocking Notch, but if he's half as smart as I think he is he knows himself that he's nowhere near as influential as some of the names on the list. Maybe he deserves a spot on that list somewhere, but in my mind he shouldn't even be close to the top. The fact that he is second is honestly ludicrous.
He's always been humble, but either way I doubt he truly has veto power. it's a vote, by definition, the vote results say who was most influential to the people that voted. If you disagree with the current voting trend, find like-minded individuals to vote against it. Otherwise, you are basically complaining that so far most people don't agree with you.
I'm glad he made this game and whatnot... It's not half bad... But I'm not really sure if he's deserving of being called the most influential person in the world...
I agree with you, but how often has Time's "most influencial person" really been the correct choice? Case and point, the current person in first place is the Egyptian President. In that way, I'll gladly vote for Notch if it is between those two.
And the one game he made that a lot of people play, (Minecraft) he hasn't done anything with since it's launch in 2011. Jeb tooks the reigns. So if people are basing Minecraft being the reason for Notch to be "most influential person this year" it should actually be Jeb and not Notch.
