Save target just askes me to save the page as an html document
That's very odd. Ok try this (I am hoping you will have this option in the save dialog). First, make sure you're clicking the right link (always good to double check just in case). When you get the save dialog again, just manually try saving it as a JAR file by just typing something like "minecraft_19pre4.jar". Also, if you haven't already done this at some point, it's always a good idea to disable the windows' default setting to "hide known file extensions" so that you can tell weather or not the file you just saved actually got saved as minecraft_19pre4.jar or if it saved it as minecraft_19pre4.jar.html.
If that doesn't work, I'd try using a different browser. So if you're using FireFox, try using Internet Explorer or Chrome. I honestly can't think of anything else off the top of my head to work around that issue. I do recall I had that exact same problem years ago. Found out it wasn't my computer, it was server side. I went to download a jpg image and it did the same thing (didn't open the image - just gave me the data garbage).
AGAIN: For anyone else having the issue (when downloading) where your browser fills with garbage (gibberish/garbled text/etc.), try the previous suggestions.
WOOOOO!!! I'm psyched man, I think the next thing should be falling graphics, like instead of falling and looking like your standing, you can like spin through the air and land on your back or face. Same if you get blown up by a creeper.
I tried the dragons mod but it was kinda lame, like drgons weren,t even cool or rare. I sure the new ones will be beast but im worried. What if a dragon flies through your house? Aren't they supposed to destroy all the blocks they touch?
DAMMIT! They're bundling the 1.9 update with the full version. That pretty much goes against the code freeze, which if I know correctly, means they won't add anything so they can fix all the bugs without generating new ones.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

I managed to download it. I didn't use the link. i had to do some fast remembrance and typed the URL into the top. it's was something like http[dot]//assets[dot]minecraft[dot]net/1_9[dot]pre4/minecraft[dot]jar
IF you copy that and put it into your URL that should help if you were having problems
replace the [dot] with .
<_< Maaaaan, they keep releasing pre-releases, but they don't release the full 1.9 update! And not only that, but they had the nerve to merge 1.9 with the full update! THE. FULL. UPDATE. I mean, what is WRONG with them? Is Notch losin' his marbles? Fact, 2 days before the planned release date, I was all set to rage through The End fighting ender men and ender dragons, but the day of the release, it didn't update to 1.9, I thought it was a glitch, but when I checked modsforminecraft.com and the forums, there wasn't any notice of 1.9's release. Afterwards, I thought it was a glitch, but then I saw the 1.9 update stuff was in the full release. Seeing this, I got so raged up, I thought I'd quit Minecraft, but after I cooled down, I decided to wait and see what shall happen next.

There is a spell-check built in most browsers, why don't people use it?!
