Hmm.. in the generated change list there's this entry for enchantments that made me a bit curious;
"damage.arthropods Bane of Arthropods"
Now, we know there are spiders in minecraft, which are arthropods.. but will the silverfish be considered also arthropods for this enchantment, or better yet might there be plants to put in more mobs? (i.e: scorpions, crabs, centipedes, shrimp, lobsters, insects like wasps and mosquitos ect?)
Yeah, silverfish count. It's an anti-bug enchant.

when is the 1.9 update going to be on beta?????? im sooooooooooooooo excited for when it does come! idk how to install anything every time i try i screw it up! :-(
... Okay. I love this game. I run a server with a few friends and this damn 1.9.4 prerelease is driving me nuts! Let's say I close out my server for the night (yes I make sure it is saved/backed up every night). If I go back in, the levels are always corrupted, like half of a building is missing. Or whole areas that we worked on just disappear. It's like the damn game wont save anymore, AT ALL! Anyone know a solution to this?
Hmm I never really used a compass before but my GF tried one today and we noticed that it doesn't point towards your bed anymore and after sleeping again I followed it to the coordinates -92,252. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

From what I've read, these are the only updates we will be getting (at least towards gameplay) until the 18th. After that they are only going to be working on performance and bug fixes till the release on November 18th (I might be a little off here). So from what I've gathered, if there is a 'final' 1.9 beta, it'll be released by the 18th or not at all.
P.S.
I haven't found any info on the compass not working properly so if anyone knows why this is, I'd like to know. (It's not pointing to my spawn point OR my bed - some arbitrary block over 50 blocks away from 0,0).

We thought of that, and the portals won't activate. You can construct one artificially using mods, but that's it.
