Please hold your tongue. We should have a right t complain about the game here. And playing a beta beta is like eating a cow. cow -> meat -> steak...
Just please its rediculous that the test was stolen and released on alteriw and people like you started playing it. And then you try and silence people after they just want the full game? totally insane...
Wasn't stolen, if you could read any of the post that matters, you'd know that they're released by JEB. WORKER at Mojang, the leading programmer right now for Minecraft.
This looks pretty neat. I won't be giving it a try since I need mods, but I can see they're making good progress with the End, changing the sun and moon shapes, and everything else. I wonder exactly what the final result will be.
Also, for all the whiners: This is still a pre-release. Unfinished features are to be expected. Don't expect everything to be fully implemented until at least the final release for 1.9, and even then still be prepared for incompleteness. If it's any consolation, the 18th of this month is the day Mojang switches from adding new stuff to fixing and refining what's already there. 1.9 will definitely be out by then to ensure its features are available for use.
I'm completely happy with the pre-releases they have been doing. My only complaint is that they keep adding features that no one really wanted/expected and don't continue features (the major ones) that people wanted. working NPC's in villages, endermen being harder, strongholds having bosses and mobs, special unique loot, the nether and so on. So now we have to wait until after the official release for what was advertised before all the new stuff.
Notch wanted dragons, enchantments, potions and a whole new zone, and I'm glad he is adding to the game. Minecraft has always been about the complex yet simplistic gameplay. But they failed to complete the nether, villages, strongholds, working npcs, etc... which are the biggest features of the adventure update. So I get to a stronghold, it's empty and itemless... I get to a village, I have pig AI for villagers... I have very little reason to go to the nether... still. They have 5 days, I highly doubt those major features will be put in before the 18th.
And I fear he will charge money for the completion of the adventure update for what started in beta.
Yeah, Non-alpha account here.
TL;DR: I am happy Notch is adding content to Minecraft, I just wish he would finish what was advertised in the adventure update before adding the rest in.
i think notch should have stopped at pre3, then loaded up as many features as he could at once in, and then released it all to use in an explosion of epicness

I think the pre-release updates are amazing. Thanks to the Minecraft dev team for these gifts before the official release. I can easily see an alternate dimension where a different group of people developed Minecraft and left it like it was when it went beta. Maybe to be never updated again. Many independent games become stagnant after time never to be touch by the developer again. We are privileged to be allowed to see some of the things that are going on in the evolution of this game. And it looks like the Minecraft crew is working their butts off to see this game become what they have envisioned for it.
If you really want to help Notch and company make a great game be constructive in your criticism. Words like "stupid" and "dumb" are not going to be helpful and I can only hope that those words don't discourage the dev team from continuing to add to the awesomeness that is Minecraft. Again, it's a privilege that you can even submit your thoughts to Notch at all. Make them positive thoughts so that the Minecraft team can more fully enjoy their craft of creating this game as much as we enjoy our craft of playing it.
