growing over a period of years into one of the most successful indie game titles in gaming history
The game hasn't "grown" into anything. MC is 95% the same game it was 2 years ago. We've been promised "underwater content" and mod API support and dozens of other features for nearly the entire length of those 2 years.
Minecraft is a premise that took off, not a game that took off. And I'm certain CubeWorld and others like it will continue to revamp and improve on MC, where MC improved upon Infiniminer and 'Fortress games.
Sadly, Notch is running away with the money. He doesn't care about MC or you players. He doesn't even dev for it himself any more. He has other projects that will, much to his chagrin, never match the popularity or value of MC. I got my money's worth a hundred times over with MC, but I still expected more attentive development.
The End is a ****ing joke, right? He didn't actually just add that near-meaningless "Ending" to MC, did he? Wow. Just wow. Did anyone even ask for that?
Mojang, we thank you for how far you've come in creating this exciting and amazing game for all of us. Although 37,000,000 have registered, and 7,000,000 have actually bought the game. Just spend the 20 bucks, it's worth it!
This is why those big gaming companies need to lower their prices. I love the fact that this game is so customizable, and yet its only $30. Right now microsoft is selling a non-customizable game for XBL for $60. Which would I rather play, let alone afford? Thats right, Minecraft! I'm loving Mojang, and can't wait till this game reaches it's peak!
But some people are having problems with OptiFine too like flashing terrain, and this cannot be fixed on some computers without serious lag.
