I hope they're using actual data as opposed to that number on the homepage that is nothing more than a script to increase at specific intervals, which seems to have just-so-happened to reach 7mil about the same time everyone got excited about it.
Either way, it's a huge success regardless of whether or not it's legitimately hit 7mil so far. Good for them.
Congrats on a fan-damn-tastic game, and congrats on the milestone. Minecraft continues to be a game I go back to when other games get boring and I never play them anymore
I'm responsible for two of those sales Minecraft gives a gamer like me the experience I've dreamed of since the early 90's: a totally interactive world, with no boundries.... and with my new computer. the game is looking really good (with the help of Misa's realistic texture pack)
Something that would help every player of minecraft.... give us an option on the interface to increase the JAVA heap size without doing all those weird and confusing things (which don't work on my system anyway) I have 16gb of ram, and no matter what I do, the game only uses less than 900mb.... what up with that?
Good job Notch, and Mojang.... and yeah (grudginly) Jeb
In many ways, the upcoming changes will allow people to custom-tailor Minecraft to their liking with minimal effort and hassle, paving the way for the ultimate user-made experience.
I seriously hope this means more video settings available... like a built in optifine
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary notation and those who don't.
With aprox 15k people buying it a day, thats about 5 million people buying it a year?
In 5 more years there will be like 25-30 million people who've bought the game.
I think this new demo will convince more people of how awesome minecraft is. Before, everyone started out playing classic, and usually disliking the game in general just because of classic.

Spambots. I dont think minecraft has inertia, or whatever its called, so people can just rapidly make accounts.

And may I say, that I hope Minecraft will reach just beyond the sales of Sims!
If I helped you out, or made you laugh feel free to hit that green button!
