There's this thing I wonder about: How can 1.5 not be far off, considering there's still important things missing? Like the BUD block or Hopper filtering (which is kind of possible right now, but only by jumping through hoops. This is far from the simplicity of the Allocator.)
Hopper filtering is not that hard, and Mojang doesn't want to make this game extremely easy. They want to put in blocks and make the player think hard about how to use them, which is what makes this game fun.
As for BUD blocks, I hope they keep the piston - BUDS in.

anything that requires wooden planks has to be made using Birch Wood apparently
