Looks cool ,but it really needs something to make me want to go up there. New mobs/materials to make new items/ new blocks/etc. I don't want it to end up like the Nether where I went down there once or twice to get some glowstone or netherrack and never went back.
People shouldn't be complaining that it looks like a rip off of the Aether, just lacking. What I see is a start, just a generator. Think. It's obviously not released yet, and a "bland" universe, that would just be a waste of time to even make all together. Obviously, there's going to be some work done, stop freaking out, expect there to be some things you're clearly not expecting. Besides, isn't at least one new mob confirmed?
This reminds me of the new Bioshock Infinite, this would be a real treat if it was implemented. I have a question though, where would this sky land be set? Would it be another dimension as if it were the like the Nether, or would it be above your world and could only be reached by building higher?
I wonder if there will be portals to it just like the Nether.
I think the portals should be made out of either iron blocks or diamond blocks, as they seem way less menacing than obsidian portals and way more peaceful. The sounds should also be more peaceful, and not like creepy shrieks and sounds that a continuously fidgeting blob of goo would make.
Although, I'm not the one to choose what it will be. But still, I'm just letting my ideas get out there.
But maybe we could also get to it through a super high tower?
I built a tower as my home ever since I bought Minecraft on Friday, and it's now allowing me to be able to stand above and look around above the clouds. And yes, the bottom starts at sea level, not on top of a mountain.
Ugh, I get sick of all those people that say things like that the aether was first.
NO.
Floating islands in Minecraft were in already in indev. And guess what? The aether mod didn't exist then. And why should he add the aether anyway? Come on, dungeon bosses and keys? No.
There are some good things in that list, but ugh, i hate like 90% of them.
