It seems as if most people with smaller (>500 posts) titles are taking advantage of the new system to get the "42 Title" back. Here's lookin at you, Ice. /hypocrisy __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I take it content creator rewards actually means "bukkit plugin developer reward" system? I don't know much about bukkit as the plugin system has never really interested me that much however from what I have noticed there is no way to host adventure maps or modifications such the mods made using forge and modloader.
I agree Dark, there is a reason why I don't code for Bukkit. Modloader and Forge are just way more powerful for unique mods. Bukkit has nice features... but look at the mods.... Most of them all add or do the same features as the next plugin.. =/
If you cant work out how to install a snapshot, which is an extremely simple thing to do, how much help can you possibly be in beta testing?
I was using the original posts words... not saying I couldn't do it myself, nor that I was too lazy. I personally had been to busy setting up and playing on a personal family bukkit server and learning Java as pertains to Bukkit pluggins.
If you're running the test Client and are unable to select the snapshots, could you please click Help -> Open Client Log file, and copy/paste the contents into an email, as well as a description of the issue, to [email protected]? Our developers can use that to see what's up!
So for example, do only the top 100 content creators of that month recieve any points at all, but give nothing to the less popular creators who are still getting a thousand or so downloads a month? or do the top content producers simply get more, but everyone getting downloads gets points?
Or, is it a matter of a certain amount of downloads translating to a certain amount of points added up at the end of the month by figuring out the ratio of total downloads to points in the pool, and distributing them accordingly?
Most content creators out there are using adf.ly. in what ways is this a better alternative? it's certainly intriguing, though reading the FAQ doesn't answer many questions i have about, in fact, it simply creates more.
One very important question i have:
Where does the money come from? Is it simply sharing the ad revenue with content creators because they are one of the main reasons the website is visited, or will this require people to pay to use the site, or download content? For example, i have a texture pack. It would of course be nice to get something in return for the huge amount of work it is making such a thing (this year puts the project at its one year mark) but at the same time, id rather my texture pack be available to anyone, not just those who can afford it, no matter how low the price, i would never charge people to use it.

You bring up a lot of good points. Is there currently a way for the content creators of the community to give feedback and ask questions they may have?
As for your question about how this compares with adfly I am going to guess that it ranges dramatically from account to account. With my adfly account I typically get 0.01 for every 10 downloads. On the FaQ curse stated that 1 point is the equivalent of 0.05. Based on my own personal numbers the only way the new system would be worth it is if I were to get 1 point for every 50 or less downloads. As I said these are my own personal numbers and you should do a check with your own adfly account before deciding how well the system will work for you.

I sent the log to curse. I hope it helps.
