But I have always thought , Minecraft , being Minecraft...you would have gems eventually . If for nothing I have always wanted gems added in for making different coloured glass , or even coloured lighting...
Guys, all of you are talking about the same thing over and over, "OMG A NEW ORE!!!!!", "Is that gravel?", "Ruby coins or redstone?", "Armor armor armor!" Etc.
First it is a new ore because the ore pattern doesn't match the other ones.
Second there will be NO armor or tools of rubies. It is very unnessecary.

Seventh, the cage is not to hide faces, but to contain the villagers. No, the villagers looks are not changed.
I think thats it. Remember, Jeb takes pictures carefully. A bit of darkened ore in corner. Inventory planning. He could be tricking us, or giving us a code.
I think you guys are out-ruling the fact that It could just be a re-texture for redstone ore. I think that mining money from the ground is kinda unrealistic, it should be crafted, if anything. You can probably only get money from trading with villagers. That's my guess, anyways.
There is a thread that someone says to have a leaked 1.3 with trading. Its in discussion. It has rubies, ruby ores, and trading... it might be a scam, though.
For all of those who think its rubys it's probably not maybe red stone red stone piles up fast and in survival not a lot of people use it so it is most likely red stone for the coins and I read the list of what's coming out for 1.3 there is no plans for new ores or tools or armor and weapons or gems there could be though
If you are making jungle villages now, at least make the jungle village testificates pigmen. Then everyone will stop complaining. That way, the squilliams can be in the plains and pigmen can be in Jungles. I tired of the war saying that they'd prefer pigmen, then the other side saying that they like the current villagers. Everyone wins.
