Outside the front doors of the New York Convention Center - tons of Minecrafters await!

On the way to the main stage, where the opening ceremony is taking place!

Waiting for the ceremony to begin. Thousands of Minecrafters come out to show their support!

Let the festivities begin!

Jeb, Lydia and Notch kick off the ceremony with a bang!

Lindsay and Evan have a special treat coming up for you soon! David and Toby will also be giving their insights on Minecon very shortly, stick around!

I'm confused, if I get the time zones right it's 5:30AM in NY when the pictures were posted, is it daylight already in NY at that time?

They need to have minecon in places that are less populous, so there's less traffic.
