Why is there no download link like there normally is? Just so you know, my minecraft doesn't update like it should, so i end up having to do it myself.
They only post links for snapshots. Since this is an offical release and not a test, they do not post a download link because the update is obtained through the client. (Try clicking "force update" when you login)

Thats the problem though: No matter what i do, minecraft will crash if i accept the update, but i guess i could use a different launcher to do that, right?

Unfortunately your fix just gives ma a gamecrash right after I start it.
assuming you deleted META-INF right? Using any other mods? It's posted with the assumption that people know how to install mods, and are also aware of the possibility of mods conflicting with each other.

as of 1.4.4 my wife and I are having issue playing together through a lan connection, we both keep getting "outdated server" error message, any ideas or thoughts?
I noticed when I'm riding on a 2x1 Minecart tunnel with torches placed every 8 blocks that the flames are showing through walls. The torches are set one block in the wall outside the main shaft area. Also I noticed my mob grinder isn't working like it was before patch. Anyone else noticing things with their grinders?
Does anyone else expeirence a bug where random flames from a torch just fly around the map? You don't even need a torch nearby.
Yep.. I'm seeing them. Also I think they changed spawner mechanics or mob mechanics or something. My drop trap isn't working like it used to. The mobs are all coming to the collector at full health.
Question? Why is the lan not working?
Have tried several times from 3 different computers to get a lan up and running, all we get for an address is 0.0.0.0:random 5 digits and no one can connect.
No error message other then cannot connect reason: connect
Any help would be awesome! Thanks
There has been news stating that they are working on the lan issues and well be releasing them in the next update 1.4.5 a release has been released check it out and see if that helps
