Anyone else getting spawned in new worlds inside of dirt blocks or in deep water with an ice sheet above you? I just created 20 worlds to test and in 3 of them was in a position where I almost died or was simply stuck.

I just tested this out and I have the same issue. It was like I was falling but falling in water because I was breaking the block underneath me and it took a long time to break it. Breaking it fixed the problem and I 'landed' in the hole. I'm expierencing the torch partice bug too. Not any noticable lag though.

If you think about mod creaters there can be alot of money to be made for keeping optifine seperate. For everyone that updates has to re-download optifine. Each one visits an adf.ly link generating money per hits and so on and so on. In a sense it rewards those that make good mods and also stay ontop of each version revision and updates their mod accordingly.

Also if he put a lot of work into upgrading / working out the kinks & coding for optifine he should be able to choose what happens with his intellectual property even if it makes MC that much better :3 my FPS boost gets bananas with this.

Another issue I'm having is with the minecart sounds. They stutter annoyingly.

edit: Before the update the sounds were working just fine.

YES this is the work around that worked for me. Woot the wife is happy again and she can play with me again. sorry we were working on a project before we updated today.

I update to 1.4.4,not for the bug fixes(I don't really see any bugs in Minecraft though) ,but to join online servers that have recently updated to 1.4.4

Actually they all were. They've got the wrong changelist on the first page.
Check page 4 for at least 2 versions of the correct changelist.

This is pretty rough, between the LAN mess-up and flying torches. I'm a bit scared to go testing other things, I don't really want to end up falling through the world with a full suit of armor or something.

I'm going to imagine we can expect a fix for this pretty quickly though.

Why is there no download link like there normally is? Just so you know, my minecraft doesn't update like it should, so i end up having to do it myself.

i have the same problem. Sometimes minecart sounds wrong, sometimes not

There is a bug that remains : when a torch is placed on a wall, the flame on it "travels away" around in the air.
That's weird !

Hello guys today i just updated to 1.4.4 and downloaded 1.4.4 single player commands and when i try to open it my screen stucks at mojang sign what should i do to solve it?

it's getting irritating....
why would you update the versions with such haste, making them look buggy and disrespectful.
please kindly slow down and stabilize the version
and also, you must be hating the mod authors right?
