Yes! Since it's out, that means that it's time for newbie (lol) server advice 101!
To make a public 1.4.2 server on windows, go to your firewall.
Then, select 'add a program' or whatever on the top left. Then click, 'add a port'
Name your port,"Minecraft" then type in a randomized port. remember it!
Create the port and make sure it's checked off.
Find your ip aderess: command prompt>ipconfig
go to server.PROPERTIES or whatever and change the server ip to that ip and the port to the special port you just made. yay! you made it. save it, and run the server.
<BUGS>
-If it says,"could not bind port! perhaps a server is already runnig on that port?"
-easy fix! make a new port. if that one doesn't work, keep the pattern going until it finally works! ;-)
-"Connection Refused:connect" ]
-wrong ip. or port. ;-)
ANY OTHER BUGS SHALL BE REPORTED IMMEDIATLY!!!! I HAVE ALL OF THE ANSWERS! lol

You probably also need to set up port forwarding through your router, if you're using a router to access the internet. That should be mentioned as well.
