There would be a couple of bugfixes and some new tweaks here and there, nothing major.
As for the quote, he probably means either Invisibility potions, or another thing.
There is no difference between pre-release and 1.4. If there is a major bug then they will release the pre-release for 1.4.1
I love my mods too much and won't touch any new versions until my favorite mods are moved to that version. And that usually takes forever... especially now that updates for the game are coming out so often...
Mojang is reminding me a bit of apple. Get upgraded to death. Mods can't keep up. I still miss aether.
There's actually no difference between the official release and the pre-release, that is except the pre-release is released much sooner but can only be downloaded manually and not via the game's launcher. The purpose of the pre-release is to allow modders and texture pack artists to update their mods/texture packs ahead of the official release.
If they were to make bug fixes between the pre-release and the official release, they'd make changes in the code that would make mods made based on the pre-release incompatible even if it's the tiniest bug fix, which would ruin the whole purpose of having the pre-release for modders in the first place. If bug fixing is needed, they would need to make a 1.4.1 (which would mean another pre-release so mods can update their mods for that version).
Actually, small fixes can be done in a way that doesn't break mods unless the mod changed the specific class that received the fix, and even then "break" basically means that using the mod re-introduces the fixed bug. As long as the changes are small enough to not require a change in the obfuscation, there's little chance of mods breaking.
Am I the only one getting missing textures and a glitched font? Because my chest and GUI textures aren't waorking, and the letters are just plain WEIRD. Any help? Please? Because this happend AFTER I installed the prerelease.

When life gives you lemons, make 'em combustable! Thanks, Cave Jhonson!
Am I supposed to start a new world?
What am I missing when I continue with the world created under 1.3.2?
You can keep the 1.3.2 world. You will just have to explore a little bit more if you want to find witch huts. But everything else will be right there in your 1.3.2 world when you update.
Overall, I'm excited, seems like it will be a great update! I like a lot of the new stuff, and the things I don't like I won't even bother -- that's the beauty of the sandbox, you play how you want!
The one thing I don't like and I won't be able to "not use" is the new SFX. I dislike most of them. Maybe in a week or so someone will have a "workaround" to that, if that is possible.
And, once again, no MOD API. Oh, well, I'll have to wait to use some of the MODs I like.
Also, I hope some of the bugs have been fixed, and perfomance issues are adressed as well.
Actually, try using a different browser. I'm running Windows, but I use Safari. I used Internet Explorer, it did the same thing, used Safari, worked fine. Use a different browser is all I can give.
Nope, its already being implemented. Why don't you stop whining and think for a sec.
If they stopped adding OTHER stuff to work on that, you would whine too. They ARE working on it, EvilSeph is pretty much only doing that right now. Its not a matter of clicking your fingers and getting it. Why don't you try and code your own game.
If you knew anything about this game, you would realise that the whole LAN thing was step 1 of the mod api. Now, EvilSeph is working almost every day to come up with a way to make an API that can handle ANYTHING that the HUGE minecraft community will throw at it.
How about instead of whining you code your own API and send it to them.
I understand what's up too, but he's just as impatient as I am. I can say, we probably both find it annoying that we were promised something at a certain time, then not have it delivered.
So what of the possibility of partially of this being an homage to classic cartoons? After all, anvils are affected by gravity.
That's just cosmic balance. Anvils absorb the gravitational effects that almost every other block in Minecraft ignores.
Now, if Mojang made pies throwable, where your target had to stand still with their face covered in pie apart from two blinking, bewildered eyes, maybe we could call it the Chuck Jones update.
I thought they were gonna fix the witches, they said it was 1/3 done without the hut so what are they gonna add for the last thing? Are they just gonna release it as is when its incomplete? I don't see the point in adding stuff for the witch and finishing it AFTER the Halloween date, really mojang?
Adventure mode was made pointless...they made it into survival. You can still place, you can still break, the only change is you have to have tools to break...kind of sad.

Yes, they're serious. If you watched the PAX video they mention they have to rewrite the rendering engine and that's not a one day job.
Did you not see Dinnerbone try to fix these bugs? It was working until like a million bugs came and lag issues... Come on, don't be like that.

The release is actually the 24th.
'Bout time!
I know Mojang doesn't owe us or anything, I'm just impatient.
There's yet more to come!

cant wait til 1.5
Support the dinner plate!
A modder did that. Look up Minecolony.
Like Terraria?
If that is actually part of the game I want it to be more common. (slightly.)
