anyone else having block breaking bugs?
the timing feels a bit off... that could be because i just lost my efficacy 4 pick and I'm not used to the normal breaking times anymore
sometimes the break sound dose not play
sometimes after breaking a block the adjacent block also breaks... i know that was not because of efficacy because it happened while braking obsidian and later while breaking grass with out a tool
What a ridiculous game is Mojang playing with the mod API?
I mean, it's absolutely ok if they need to spend a lot of time into it. But instead, they focus on doing features which would be easily implementable with a good mod API and, on top of that, keep saying "Mod API delayed again [*harhar*] but next version for sure" (but then stay totally quiet about it), thus making a mockery of mod leaders who don't want to update their mod (because "Mojang said the mod API comes soon").
Actually it's a sad way of developing, they're fooling the community as well as they're fooling themselves.
Again, I am not impatient and I'm happy that they're doing something like a mod API, just the way Mojang is doing it is very wrong at the moment.
This is pretty much all i look for when i see an update, I really dont care about witches int he forest, thats honestly something that a player could have added. While i do love content, the game is open enough that they need to embrace the player community, similar to how valve and blizzard have done with the source engine and the custom games that SC2 has built by the community.
The only thing not having a dedicated mod api does is make it so that you have broken mods ever update, i really hate updates because half of the people too stupid to click no update and then dont want to hassel to downgrade just to play on a cool modded server.
I'm tring to get into learning both java and modding the client, while the server side is way easier if i just stick to bukkit, i would like to get some mods on the client to help upgrade those server mods.
yeah i found a bug i would consider it major. you can start breaking a block move to another while still breaking and it will break that one and you can use this to quickly mine many blocks i would post a vid but the quality would be terrible and lag my computer to much to demostrate so please make sure mojang sees this if they haven't seen this bug already

I made it. Take a look. actually pmc took it down and gave me no reason as to why. if you do know why please pm me with the answer.
But they don't say "Mod API comes when it's ready", but "Mod API comes in the next version", and that's what they've been doing for a year now, giving everyone outside of Mojang a totally wrong immersion of when the mod API is coming and making a mess of every mod update after a Minecraft update.
very true. Dont say "coming next update" then "Not this updated" then "Not this updated" and then "eventually"... For a year now!
Yes, it may not be easy but just look what some modders already did to enhance Minecraft. Amazing works I say. Still its much much much work to reverse engineer with each version again and again because Minecraft has no API to support the modding.

I like the other stuff in the Snapshot, but, except one thing:
The left-click action will no longer open doors, pull levers, push buttons or open trapdoors. Use the right mouse button!
Oh come on! The left-click button has been a long-used popular button for interacting with things! Just set it back to default, and let us change it (through the Options screen).
Not sure if this is old news but I found an End Portal duplication glitch. I covered up the lava pool under the portal in the Stronghold, then in the End I pushed a minecart through the portal. The next time I came to the End there were two minecarts on the obsidian platform.
Most of the times I tried this I had to get off the platform before the carts would arrive. Of the eight times I tried this I tested 5 times with Minecarts with chests (with items in those chests) and 3 times with just minecarts. On two occasions (once with a minecart and once with a Minecart with Chest) the carts were quadrupled instead of doubled.
Three times I just threw items into the End-Side portal. One time the items were duplicated. The other two the items were not.
Again, I'm not sure if this is new. I just wasn't able to find reference to this particular portal duplication glitch.
edit: CORRECTION.
Returning to the overworld is not required for duplication to occur. Simply passing a cart through the End-Side portal will send two (or four) to the platform.
Yep totally makes sense for us to fix their game right?
Here's a new flash for you; its impossible to make the game conform to everyone's standards. Your idea of broke is likely someone else's idea of a job well done. Hence, modding. The game isn't for you, it's for everyone. I know you're bored and you've finished fapping and now you are just goofing off on the internet, but find something else to do than insult work someone has put their full time into.
Definitely digging this snapshot. The block mining bug is fun
What seems to happen is if you start mining, then move off to other blocks, they'll all mine out once you've finished mining one of them. I'm sure Mojang knows, it's pretty freakin' obvious. This also seems to happen when attacking stuff (slimes!), somehow. I haven't tested the digging down with a fast tool yet.
I'm testing in Survival on a private server I'm running here at the house. The new world seed I generated seems to be a great testing seed. Spawn is in a forest near a desert, taiga, jungle, and swamp biomes. The desert has a village and ruins nearby, all crops are present in the village and there's enough iron & gold in the chests to get tools & armor. There's also some surface lava. My spawn point was less than 50 blocks from where I took the screenshot, just behind that river in the forest.

I'll edit this if I find a witch's hut in the swamp, and prolly cross post it to the seeds subforum.
Keep rockin' it, Mojang.
Edit: No hut All of the biomes seem really small, no more than 100 blocks in diameter. There's some plains on the other side of the swamp. I couldn't find a single sheep, even after doing a creative mode flyby.

I can confirm the blocks breaking bug here, or perhaps its a new feature they want to introduce somehow making the mining and digging more realistic...

When slimes get into water they get stuck. Then they drown.

Witchs, Bats, Beacons!
SO INTENSE!!!
Sometimes they have no collision, and I have seen them melt just like ice O_o

Jeb has said that the block breaking bug has been fixed in tomorrow's 12w40b. https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/253856857595203584
